Here are just SOME of the things the boox palma can do! 😋🤍 °•☆°•☆°•☆°•☆°•☆°☆°•☆ ~ There's a LOT more it can do, which I'll be going over in my full video linked above the reels title!
I just ordered the black one bc of your video !! It’s my first e reader since HS and I’m so so excited. I prefer reading on my phone, but can’t stand the weight and possible distractions 💗💗💗
I looked into the Boox Page quite a bit and contemplated getting it, though I ended buying a Kobo Clara 2e as my first e-reader recently, but the Palma has been tempting me more and more. I'm so used to reading on my phone, so it's been an adjustment to use a dedicated e-reader. Ultimately, I didn't want to spend too much for my first go-around with e-ink display, but now I know it works great for me and is much better for my eyes, which was the leading factor in my search for an e-reader anyway. I love how lightweight my Clara is, and the Palma should be just as light, and I would like to have some web browsing accessibility in my next e-reader purchase, though I don't think it will be soon. Anyway, thank you so much for the video! I appreciate it!
if you want a phone sized device like this, and you want to primarily read epub books on it, I would definitely consider getting the inkpalm 5. It's not as great as the boox palma, but it's way cheaper. I have it, and love laying on my side to read it in bed, especially because you can turn the pages with the side volume buttons.
@@josiahdoesstuffI've only seen a couple of videos about it, but I'll look into it more. One thing that does make me lean toward getting a Boox product, though, is listening to audiobooks and its text-to-speech feature because I like reading and listening to a book at the same time when I can. Still, that's easily something I could just use my phone for
@@iloveumoreeeit is literally made of ink, normal lcd screen just has really small pixels that shine light, however ink is different, they put negative and positive charges on different parts of an area so that the ink knows when it must go up the surface to let you see the ink or go down the surface so it doesnt, it uses a backlight instead of brightening the pixels, a backlight is literally just a layer of light behind the phone screen, which mimics paper, which is why e ink is much healthier on the eyes, because it is just literally ink but with smart physics
Hi bookworms, a reverted bookworm here, got out of read(living, breathing, devouring)ing books for almost 2 decades 😢😢😢😢😢blasphemous i know.. now at 40 I am finally feeling myself again after a extremely toxic relationship - I would love to pick up annotating buuut I am really not comfortable of seeing my books filled with scribbles especially because my scribbles can look dreadful. I had never read using e-readers before, would love this sized e-reader since I got small hands, but I also want colour pages for annotations, any recommendations? Oh and also very importantly , something that does not cause eye strain , my eyesight have suffered from prolonged screen exposure already. Thank you. Love your video, I get misty-eyed thinking what if I had been like you , a consistent reader well until now, maybe i and my life would have turned out differently.
This size e-Reader is pretty unsusual I think only boox and one other company have them. If you want to annotate books in general digitally, I'd recommend the Kobo Libra Colour, which you can comfortable hold in one hand and even scroll pages with buttons. You can also buy a seperate pen though and then use it for annotating inside the books in colour, which is a cool feature, but you can only do it in books you bought(at least on the german version xD).
@@emilyelizabethhill Nope I was just guessing! But they've been putting out colored versions of some of their other devices so I have a feeling this one is definitely getting a colored version at some point.
@@emilyelizabethhillProbably at least 3 years. Look at the Remarkable Paper Pro; that'll show you where the tech is currently at. It looks good so far.
@@nananajiglo.2743 i have the inkpalm 5, and it's definitely worse than the boox palma, but it's not bad at all if you are just reading text from epub files or whatever
@@nananajiglo.2743 ???? how is it not good? It's perfect for it's actual purpose, y'know.. reading books. the palma is more for people who enjoy the idea of books, and just use their device to play games and read comics instead of reading actual books.
i bought the poke 5 because i want it just for reading and also it was half the price of a palma. maybe in five years i will get the palma if i'm happy with the poke 5!
I love this, but the idea of an app store takes away so much for me. I wonder if there's something similar but without the ability to use SNS/apps or watch videos. Something that works both as a reading tablet and a writing tablet...
Last time I checked, Boox gifts one with each purchase on their website. They just released a fold case, so I'll be unboxing it soon on here as well! They go for under $16.

I really dont understand the existence of this device. Everything that palma has to offer is already available in our smartphones.. what purpose does it serve?
Because its an e reader not a phone. It's designed for reading; the type of screen it uses makes it easier on the eyes :) i personally wouldn't get one this size but that's just me so I get where you're coming from.
Don't like to read manhwa on e-readers cause I need color in order to read it personally. Goshting only on certain refresh rates, which I talk about in the video**🤍
I'm looking to buy my first e-reader would you recommend this or the boox page? I'm leaning towards the page since it has a larger screen, but this thing just looks so dang nice that I'm torn.
Hmm? If you're right-handed, I would try out the bigme b751c (review is up on my channel!) It's a color ereader, and it comes with a pen, and it also runs on andriod OS. Specs are pretty similar, so if the price difference isn't that much of a difference between the page. If not, then the page will be a better choice if you want the typical sized ereader. I'd probably wait until the next palma if you don't care much about the size because I think the next one will be even better! Maybe even in color if you care about having color on your ereaders! 🤍🤍
Oh! I'm going to work on a comparison video on all of my current ereaders! I'm hoping to release it sometime next month, though! Hopefully I've been a help for now!
Except batteries are likely to have deteriorated in older used phones. And if the phone has e-ink display, it will be nicer on the batteries life. Less consumption means less battery cycles, which means lesser battery deterioration. If I could get my hands on a lesser featured reader (i.e. exclusively just for reading comics and books) with this form factor, I might actually consider it an everyday carry together with another Android phone.
Thank you! I haven't bought nails in awhile, but I typically just search up 'y2k nails' or 'cute nails' on aliexpress. I used to get them from etsy, but I really only wear press on nails for my videos now lol 🩷
I'm not here to hate or anything - just genuinely curious. What's the point of using this e-reader when it's basically just a phone tinted in black and white?
the purpose of ereaders is to simulate an actual book using e-ink technology. basically using an ereader as opposed to a phone tinted in black and white is that when using an ereader for long periods there will be significantly less eye-strain. this techology would also be beneficial in a normal desktop environment, but the technology just isn't super widespread in that department yet. hope this helps!
eink is made specifically for reading. If you're reading on a regular screen, that screen is refreshing dozens of times per second, which is something your eyes pick up on even if you don't. e ink is generally much much less abrasive on your eyes. Also depending on how you use it, the battery can last for up to a week.
There are plenty of e-ink phones out there friend! Boox will most likely release one of their own day, but until then I recommend checking out the Hisense A9 it essentially does everything here, plus making calls and text! Could also double as an mp3 player if you are into that sort of thing. Hope this is helpful!
