This is the most helpful review of this curriculum that I've found in my many searches this week. Thank you so much for this level of detail and your honesty! I was sincerely on the fence Cuz "I'm not good at this" & I'm buying it because of this video. Thanks again!
I am buying and binding them into separate seasons because of your video! Hope it works out with my little girl and with us living near San Francisco (not a whole lot of nature where we are)
Thank you so much for this review! After watching your video this curriculum made so much more sense to me as compared to seeing bits of it on the website. I wish I had bought this sooner because our whole family is enjoying it!
Thanks for the link to the Facebook group for the printables of the art! I’m like you- terrible about nature study. This video convinced me to purchase it! I think I learned more about nature from the preview sample on the site than I have in two years!! 🤪
I really need to get a good printer and a binding machine!! We are loving this curriculum which we are doing with a large group of other homeschoolers each week! It’s great!
New subscriber here and homeschooling mom of 4 girls! Thanks for the review! We are just getting into nature journaling and this looks perfect for someone like me who has no idea where to start!
Thank you so much for sharing this, I've been having a hard time with Nature study lately and you have convinced me to get this! I purchased it tonight and printing it now. I love how you've broken it down into seasons. I was wondering how did you make the covers for yours?
I like that you separated in seasons ! I was thinking to do something similar because it’s too thick ... I have this beauty of a book and haven’t printed it yet. I’m thinking to try to incorporate this in spring next year. It’s awesome !! ☺️💛 TFS!
Is there any where else I can easily get the artwork to print as I have requested to join the Facebook group weeks ago but haven't heard back from anyone.
It’s difficult to actually see what you’re pointing at in the book since it’s zoomed out so far. Sounds like it’s just what I need! I suck at nature study myself.
Thank you for this review. Do we need to buy a journal for the kids in addition to this? I’m a bit confused as we’ve never done nature studies. Thank you 😊
What you printed and bound is just for you correct? Or do your kiddos each have one as well?? I ordered it and want to see how I best set this up. I also got the journal
We are a secular homeschool and another family mentioned Bible references in this curriculum? Wondering exactly how it's written and worded? I've come across some Christen base curriculum that I felt just wouldn't fit in our home. At the same time this was definitely at the top of my first grade picks for the new year as I love how it's laid out and looks easy to follow. Curious now as to what this other family meant however...
It is MOSTLY secular. There are I believe 3 weeks such as Christmas Plants week that reference bible verses. But it could EASILY be skipped and done in a secular home.
@@TheWaldockWay that's perfect! That's been one at the top of my list to try for our first grade year. Thank you Jessica for the feedback 😊 Ninja week looked like a total blast for Miss Emily 💚 Looking forward to seeing the Harry Potter themed unit brought to life with your creative mind. 😍😍
Thank you for your reviews. I am wondering how well this program would work for my family because we live in Central Florida. Our flora and fauna don't always follow the same patterns as much of N America. Do you think this may be an issue or would it adapt well regardless of region?
Binding them separately by season is honestly genius

Same.

I hope so too!
Thank you for this flip-through! I ended up ordering this for our upcoming school year, love how simplistic it makes nature study.

Thank you so much for sharing! I will be purchasing this for our son! ✨💗

I love that I can use it and not be good at nature.

I love my HP Instant Ink & Proclick 😍
Oooh, I have to go look this up! Thanks mama!
Yes! It's wonderful!
Very informative, thank you! I love all the helpful ideas!
Thank you I was thinking about getting this! I am trying to increase our nature study!
This is a GREAT way to do that!
Got it! Thank you!

Thanks for subbing!
Thanks! Where can I find those seasonal covers? Not seeing them in the facebook group.
I think she offers them free as a download now with the curriculum.
Keep these amazing videos coming!!!
Thank you! I will definitely try!

There are actually season covers on the website for free.

You can start it anytime which is another thing I love. Just jump in when you're ready.

Are all of those art pieces in one file on the facebook group? What was the name of it? There are lots of files on there!
Love this video
Jessica, I'm having trouble finding the file on the FB page with the art pictures.
I believe that they have now removed them because of copyright laws.
Hi!, I am about to buy this but I was wondering, is there a good month to start this?
You really can jump in anywhere, that's the beauty of it!
How did you add Summer, Spring, etc on the bottom of the cover?
She offers free season downloads on her site. But I didn't know that when I made mine so I just wrote it on the bottom of each with a black marker.
The Waldock Way thanks so much! Printing now :)
The Waldock Way one more question... did you laminate your cover photo? I printed the cover on card stock but debating on laminating
I always print covers on cardstock and laminate for durability.
how did you print them off and get them bound? Staples?
I print and bind everything myself using HP Instant Ink and Proclick.
Thank you for this review. Do we need to buy a journal for the kids in addition to this? I’m a bit confused as we’ve never done nature studies. Thank you 😊
I would keep one but a no pressure one.
What you printed and bound is just for you correct? Or do your kiddos each have one as well?? I ordered it and want to see how I best set this up. I also got the journal
This is just for me.
Where can I purchase these books? Thank you!

Does she just refer to the hand book of nature study? What ages is this for?
She refers to the page numbers in it as well as suggests other books. I feel like it is for ALL ages!
Thank you for your reviews. I am wondering how well this program would work for my family because we live in Central Florida. Our flora and fauna don't always follow the same patterns as much of N America. Do you think this may be an issue or would it adapt well regardless of region?
We live in Florida too, some of it we could not "see" so we just studied it in books and talked about it. It still worked well.
@@TheWaldockWay Thank you!
What binder and printer do you use?
I use a ProClick Binder and a HP Printer. You can see the specifics ones here: www.thewaldockway.com/2018/12/19/my-5-homeschool-mama-must-haves/
What age is it suitable for pls?
Preschool through Highschool.
Could this be done with a 12 year old or is it for younger kids?
Absolutely! It is a nature study aimed at all ages and geographical locations. I plan to use it multiple years as well.
Sadly the group must have taken down the art pdf. :(
