I'm not super big on Charlotte Mason style (we do more of an eclectic approach) but I appreciate the flip-through. I just heard about Playful Pioneers this morning and will add it to the list of "maybe" curriculum for next year. Those anatomy books look fantastic! Does the nature book show life cycles, and does it have any evolution mentioned in it? I didn’t notice in the flip-through. I’d like a book about life cycles and the DK one isn’t appropriate. Thanks!
@@jasminehartley9692 Yeah, there is a sample page that shows it and the first review on Amazon says in part, “Unfortunately for our family, this book states many "theories" as fact. Not once or twice, but over and over... That the world started with a bang, that everything that exists came from space,...”
I believe she decided to switch because she has 3 children 5 and under and A Year of Tales seemed like a better fit for her youngest children. She said in a different video that she would be combining Year of Tales with Torchlight Kindergarten for the geography and science aspect. I love the look of the guides at wilkinsonnest as well. My children are almost 6 and 2 and I just bought Playful Pioneers but also don't want to regret pushing forward too soon, I want to savor the early years so for that The Hundred Acre Wood or Year of Tales curriculum is very intriguing. I can't make up my mind at all because I also think that quality teaching of history is important so I wanted to start exposing my daughter to it.
Great review!! YES about that printer!!!. I just got one and am LOVING it. It's the best purchase I've made in a long time. I just downloaded the 2.0 version of Playful Pioneers...same content but layout is a little different. I think we're going to enjoy it.
