I may need to get you on for a couple games. I don't have time to work and play as much as I did as a kid. But playing ball is something I've always enjoyed. Really struggle with it in 5v5 though. I'm used to counter swinging primary tank with my old duo. And now Winton feels better for that role.
You earned my respect simply still playing ball brother. I'm coming back from overwatch 1, quit when echo came out I think. Used to love Rein, Ball and Torb, Rein and torb are still just as viable and fun, but trying to solotank on ball into this much cc? Man your therapist must be making bank.
I think a big thing about this gameplay is obviously the shield management was awful but besides that the over utilization of cooldowns and dive play style is bad. Against sig rein a more collapse / displace style works way better. I see a lot of the time the new gen ball players look for all in engages instead of minimal cooldown usage for pressure absorption and displacement. Just rolling through and not committing piledrive or shields is very strong especially against those tanks. I know sombra is there but if you spy check and keep tabs on her positioning your value can be endless. Especially when ball has an off tank with him the displacement value is honestly insane. It can set up picks or at the very least force some kind of decision whether it be a cooldown or panic. Ball doesn’t have to always be an all in engage character. He is very good at just fucking with you. You also will see more opportunities come from this play style cause your forcing decisions from enemies. Your slam will get more value, your shields will be more apparent when you should use them, and you will build ult quicker. The small things in the neutral will set up really big plays for an actual coordinated engage even without comms

Giving shields to your teammates is useless. You get more done just by using the shields yourself.
