    Thanks Stefan! For someone who did his military service at P10 Strängnäs in 1982-1983, near the museum, i appreciate both the museum and the videos you do. I saw some of your objects during my service. One of the early tanks was placed outside the regiment headquarters during many years before it was renovated. Now i Think you have it running again and it is placed in the entrance of the museum. I wish i could be a volontair at the museum but i live a bit to far away for it to be possible. Continue doing the videos! Tack och ta hand om er i dessa orostider!

    Please to a long video about the S tank. It is one of the best historical artifacts we Swedes have. That and our vehicle industry (cars trucks) and Flygvapnet. S tank. First 1 crew tank. First radio controlled. First true futuristic looking tank after WW2. Please this is history worth talking about :) It even was on the TV car show in Sweden to calm the drivers meeting this beasts on the road! IT was something everyone looked at from all around the world! Suck a fascinating cold war tank. It is the image of our country! Well outside of Flygvapnet this is the true spirit of our Military! And Sweden as a country! Plz! Our roads where built in mind of this tanks being able to stop invading forces. When I took my lorry driving license we where tested by driving down this old "main" roads and they are so beautifully difficulty to drive down that having a S tank pup up where part of the build plan! ;) Lucky that did not happen. But o you are a sitting duck trying to invade with this thing roaming around XD
    We even have footage of a certain Moustache in UK talk about the S tank on USA TV show. We have Chieftain doing the vehicle tour for WG. Now we need the Swedes to the history / historian side right! This one thank have more intresting stuff going for it then most tanks. And it is left unknown but for a few!

      Actually the term prop/propeller shaft is correct. I'm of the understanding that the term "drive shaft" refers to the internal shaft that transfers the power between the differential and the driven hub/sprocket that .

    The colour for this vehicle is probably wrong. Early war German tanks were painted grey - anything from light grey to dark grey. Some Pz1s did make it to North Africa to fight the British, so maybe yellow could be correct,

    • @colindhowell
      @colindhowell ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong for the early war, but right for the later war from what I've read. It sounds like they simply repainted it in the color it already had when it got to Sweden.

      @@sirjohndough8575 Quote I found: 'Finally, everything was ready. At 4:50 a.m. on September 3, 1967, as crowds of people gathered to watch, all vehicles on the road were instructed to come to a halt. They were then directed to move carefully from the left side of the road to the right, and wait. At the stroke of 5:00, following a radio countdown, an announcement was made - “Sweden now has right-hand driving” - and traffic was allowed to resume. Time Magazine called the event “a brief but monumental traffic jam.”'

      That's more or less what it is, small, light and fast. The Germans made good use of them in combined-arms though, so they worked quite well in the early war despite their... obvious problems!
