You probably already know this but just in case, "stretch" machine needles are called "ball point" needles on most websites. Thats what you need for sewing stretch/knit material. Universal needles are not the same. They are "sharps" and are meant for woven material. Sharps will actually damage knit material as they will rip holes in the fibers. ball point needles are rounded on the tips and push the fibers apart rather than piercing them. The amazon needles were probably "sharps" and too thin/cheap and couldn't handle the thickness of the fabric. Keep up the good work! I'm loving following your projects!

Try the wawak ball head pins, it has a lot more quantity, it can last me about a year even with multiple of it in different projects.
