Yeah, I'm no pro editor. Perhaps you've seen my other videos and see they aren't up to this snuff in comparison 🤪 GoPro app helped me make this.
What I wanted to capture on this drive, on a bright but -10°F day, is the phenomenon where areas of Spearfish Creek in the Black Hills of South Dakota freezes from the bottom up. Indeed I did find said frozen areas under the rushing current among all the fresh snow-capped hillsides, cliffs and Ponderosa Pines.
Spearfish Creek in many areas has a very rocky creek bottom, causing much turbulence, and slowing water flow enough relative to the high current of the top of the creek waters that it begins freezing from the bottom up. Pretty cool sight.
