what a bike this 07 08 R1 are. Beautiful design, perfect racing bike...i just cant think of anything bad to say. the 09 crossplane was much heavier but not any faster

Ive never actually focused hard enough on sag and preload and as i get older im becoming more technically inclined with my motorcycle experience. these videos are awesome. thanks for handing over knowledge.

Best R1 in terms of overall power figure above 9.000 rpm, before 2015. Literally eats pre-2015 crossplanes on high revs.

Nuno MC: Seems like the 2007-2008 R1 is pretty legendary.

Dave when I see you bounce these bikes they move quite a bit. I cant even get my '16 RSV4 RR to move more than an inch when I do it. Sprung too stiff?

Just got a 07 R1 last month, reset the suspension to stock but I noticed that fork sag is 30mm and shock sag is 40mm, so I took some preload out from the forks and not it's 33mm front, I will move the shock preload a couple of notches in the back so it evens out. Could you give me a suggestion of what sag should I aim for track usage so I can adjust it when I got to my local track this summer? Also for street ridin 33-35mm sag front and back ok?
Forgot to mention I am 95kg with full gear.

Start at 30mm front and rear for rider only if you are going to the track.

I'm about 148lbs. I don't think the bike knows when I hop on lol.

The shock will for sure as you are the target weight for it. The forks not so much!

Great motorcycle for all aspects of riding. 2004 was the best engine, 2007/8 the best overall package prior to 2009 new engine.
