I’m waiting for my Zeppelin to be delivered & your video has me even more excited. For me, it’s all about the portability and your comment about being like an SUV made me smile as I look at my Jeep Wrangler. Thank you!

Ooo, now that is a inflatable kayak that is of interest to me. Not quite something that I will run out at get, but something in the coming seasons.

I absolutely love it. There are quite a few clever elements to its design that I will cover in my full review, but this is a great choice among the high end inflatables in its price range.

Excellent video and well presented thoughts on the kayak. You just need to make a video of an hour of you quietly paddling on the calm lake. So relaxing!

Very nice and informative video! I just bought the same kayak and live about 10 mins from Jordan. You are spot on with the reasons for living in the area. There’s a section of Jordan behind the damn that is for non-motorized traffic only and is a great place to paddle. No camping allowed there, but still very fun and relaxing post work float.

From your filming angle that looks like it tracks surprisingly well. I never would have expected an inflatable kayak to track well at all. Great video.

It has two small laterals kegs and one large central skeg to help it track. It still skulls more than a rigid v-bottom kayak, but it's not bad at all.

Didn’t see foot rests. Ok if you want to chill and distance isn’t an issue. Good technique relies on pressing against them to get power per stroke, so you’ll miss that.

I bought an intex excursion pro on Amazon for $350. I clicked cancel after 3-4 of thinking time on my purchase. I went ahead and got the tandem full package Bote kayak for $1300 plus $100 promotional gift card. I think it’s worth it

What an awesome location and video. Now all you need to do is start a new series of vids demonstrating The Tek of Kayak. Honestly, just a livestream video of you paddling around a lake in real time catching fish and enjoying the view would be so relaxing (Until the power boats go by).

You’re the second one to suggest that. I will do that at least once before it cools down and see how the video is received.

I have no doubt that the first couple of times the kayak is fine, my question is if it's worth it in the long run? Will the kayak last more than a year before breaking down? I have the money to buy one just I don't have the money to keep buying another if it breaks in a month or two. On that note, is there a proper way to maintain the kayak so it lasts longer? And lastly great video!

Peace...I'm putting this on my list to visit when visiting family in the Raleigh area. Thanks for the video. I too own a Zeppelin Yak . Looking forward to a maiden voyage.
Does it make a difference whether I inflate pontoons 1st before board , notice your steps?...Peace

    • @TheTechofTech
      @TheTechofTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The main thing is to make sure the board ends up under the fattest part of the pontoons on both sides. I've found that I need to push it under no matter which I inflate first.

Looks like a nice kayak. How do you think it would be on the ocean if the waves got a bit choppy? Seems stable but the side pontoons are low. Did you get round to doing the full review you mentioned?

I have never kayaked in ocean waves with any kind of kayak, so I do not feel qualified to answer. However, this is way more stable than any hardshell kayak I’ve used, and I do know there is a channel in Hawaii that uses this exact kayak to paddle around the islands.

@@TheTechofTech Thanks for the info. I watched your other video. The pontoons look quite low so I suspect spray would get into the cockpit at times on a choppy sea but gather the floor is self draining so at least you shouldn't be sat in water sloshing around. I also would be wary of using their inflatable seat on the sea unless it was very calm (seems to elevate you about 6 inches above the floor?). I guess I could always use my standard seat though (which I add a 2 inch thick water proof cushion to)

I owned the Zeppelin for about a year while living in Southern California and I took this out in the local bays and ocean every weekend. It handled the choppy water very well and cuts through the low level waves with ease. At no point did I ever feel like I was going to tip over or fall out of the kayak. It is extremely stable and solid.
