Horizontalhive.com for free download plans and instructions or to purchase a trap or Hive or a good book! This is not an affiliate link we do it to help Dr Leo and spread the word about NATURAL BEEKEEPING ❤

have you guys checked out advoko makes (you tube)? He has an excellent set up for bees without disturbing them at all. I’d like to know what Dr. Leo thinks about the set up and how he thinks it would work. If you haven;’t checked it out yet, please do. it is so interesting. thank you for the hard work!

Thank you so much for introducing us to Dr. Leo. I have kept bees since 2016 but it was too much for my fake hip so I had to give it up. Learning about Dr. Leo and checking out the horizontal hives website changed everything. I used his free plans and had three hives made. Just caught my first swarm this year and I can't believe how easy it has been to use this hive. Not only that but the bees are thriving. I have read Keeping Bees with a Smile over and over. It is nice to have my own ideals of beekeeping affirmed by others. Am so thankful for D&S and Dr. Leo.

Dr Leo is a true blessing to those of us who strive to live closer to what our LORD wants for us. His books are easy to read and understand. When you add in Dougs bee video series all that’s missing is the bees!
Honestly, doesn’t it make more sense? Everything that can be turned into an “industry” turns out not to be best for all concerned. The bee industry kills bees. Weakens bees. Weakens honey. (Honey, Another blessing from YHWH.)
Thanks Doug for introducing us to this wonderful man. Thank you Dr Leo for teaching us!

Hi Doug, Stacy, and Dr Leo.
As usual, your video has a huge amount of valuable information for any beekeeper.
I caught a Wild Bee Swarm in June 2023. This was the beginning of a new challenge, how to work with the bees.
My bees have a “comfortable pied à terre” in a Layens Horizontal Hive in my backyard.
I recently performed my first inspection of the Layens Horizontal Hive (video is on my channel) the bee colony survived the winter without any problems.
I do not use any treatment or supplemental feeding for my bees.
I am very happy that the family of backyard beekeepers is growing thanks to beekeepers like you.

I've caught some flak for this following this design. I love it, it's very non-labor intensive, unless you try and build your own while trying to keep up with them. People around here in MT do not know about this method, it'll take -30F like it's nothing. And he's right about leaving them honey.... I rarely have to feed them in spring.....

The bees probably got used to him and recognized him and didn't see him as a threat. There is a video of a guy on TH-cam who has a pet small jumping spider that likes to sit on his keyboard while he's working at his computer and do high fives with him. It's the cutest little spider, and I suppose those little insect creatures have some way of figuring out who you are.

It was on the palm side of my left pinky 🤙 talk about smart😮 I walked around and cussed for a minute.😅 It pumped out 3 or 4 times before I got the stinger out. I actually felt it for days. I'm not sure I noticed a benefit?? Not saying it isnt true but also I do think sometimes a second pain can take your mind off of the first pain. Thanks, DOUG, very informative!🐝

Also like he was saying be selfsafisant if you do buy a hive it's so easy to split them once you get them going you can catch them with traps you can also get swarms that is very easy also you can hunt for you bees and find where they live by setting a bait box and mark them then follow them to see where to place a box for when it swarms

Thank you for putting this video out there! There are books and suggestions out there on BVT (Bee Venom Therapy). Like must have an epi pen to start. Take high dose vit C to help avoid reaction. Avoid alcohol around stinging. Start on back one inch on either side of spine at first so swelling is on back. Work down arms and legs eventually. Following acupuncture points and meridian lines are beneficial. It has helped me and many others. I usually don't comment but I wanted to add some possible useful information and encouragement for anyone brave enough to try. I love your style of beekeeping! Best!❤
