As good as the new Lexus NX is... and it is a HUGE improvement over the previous generation. The turbo engine is a big upgrade, but the lack of space on the inside and just a lack of an overall "wow" factor, keeps us from fully recommending the new NX over competitors like the Genesis GV70 or Acura RDX. The German offerings are also still great options and we think Lexus has caught up to those, especially with the electrified powertrains. I think at $48000 to $50000 this particular model makes a case for itself l, but at $55000 I would get the GV70 or fully loaded RDX.
I see cost cutting in the interior too They could have simply taken the interior from the venza and just leveled up from there But they didn’t. Even some Toyotas these days have nicer interiors. Venza or even a Camry xle XSE are more luxurious inside than the nx

Sometimes I think Redline Reviews forgets what segment they are reviewing. Leather stitching in the dash is an option on even the next level of SUV up. It would be nice to keep the interior review focused on the price point they car is in.
That's exactly what he did. The dash needs some detail/stitching especially at this price point. Even cheaper cars from Hyundai or Mazda have more going on there to make the dash more pleasing to the eye.
Sofyan is a bit blinded when talking about money sometimes. Not everyone can get the highest spec of a vehicle like he always suggest. He is not wrong about this, though. The previous NX had a more luxurious interior with stitching on the dash and other details not found on this one.
@@MattCC16Gamingdont compare stitching on non luxury segment. Its like saying that its because he puts a nice big tires on a cheap car makes it looks so much luxurious and better than any luxury cars exisited just because it has the nicest wheels. Yes It looks nice but will still runs cheap. Luxury cars are built.from ground up. Every little bit that you can see and cannot see (feel) makes up a luxury car.
Genesis GV70, Mercedes Benz GLC, Lincoln Corsair, and even the Mazda CX-5 have stitching on the dash. I think it’s an option on the X3 as well. This is not out of the norm for this segment.
Great review as always. Love the comparisons you make as you cover every aspect of the interior, exterior and performance of the vehicle. I do wonder if you could show more than just Car Play when reviewing the infotainment system of vehicles. It would be nice to see the Android side .
Have the 22 nx350f. Have had it for two weeks. My one gripe is it’s super slow. Slower than I thought it would be, and so far does not seem to get good gas mileage. So I don’t really feel like driving in sport+ and getting even worse gas mileage. Other than the pickup and overall sluggishness, it’s a beautiful car. No other complaints.
0-60 with a torque converter gear box is respectable. Dual clutch would be faster, but you would be paying big when it breaks. Did you drive it before you purchased it?

I agree 100% with you! The first time I ran into that confusion was with the Camry; even within a trim I found out that there were multiple options. For example, if you wanted an SE you’d see one with a moonroof and another SE that was totally missing a moonroof; one with incandescent flashers and another with LED flashers. It was a crazy mix and match situation going on. Same confusion was in the Lexus lineup.

The sad part is I feel Lexus wants the NX 350h as their volume seller, likely to cater to the demand of greater MPG in this day and age, but it terms of powertrain refinement and power the NX 350 with this 2.4L Turbo is the superior choice over the somewhat buzzy 2.5L Hybrid setup of the former. Don’t misunderstand me bro you are one of my favorite Automobile Journalist. Hands down. Alex Auto is one of the other great journalists as well.
Our 22 Venza has more interior stitching and leatherette. I love the tech and exterior of the NX, but the look of the interior doesn’t wow me.
@@MattCC16Gamingdont compare stitching on non luxury segment. Its like saying that its because he puts a nice big tires on a cheap car makes it looks so much luxurious and better than any luxury cars exisited just because it has the nicest wheels. Genesis GV70, Mercedes Benz GLC, Lincoln Corsair, and even the Mazda CX-5 have stitching on the dash. I think it’s an option on the X3 as well. This is not out of the norm for this segment.
I do a lot of highway driving and have had flat tires. No spare tire is a bad idea.

I agree 100% with you! The first time I ran into that confusion was with the Camry; even within a trim I found out that there were multiple options. We've tested a number of Acura RDXs, the most recent of which was a 2020 Advance AWD model that hit 60 in 6.8 seconds, a full half second quicker than the Lexus. That's a difference you'll feel. So is the Q5's performance; we've tested a 2021 AWD model reaching 60 in only 5.7 seconds. Motor Trend
Too bad Lexus didn't opt to use the same designs as the upcoming full electric model. It looks so much better then this NX insude and out.
Looks pretty good. Lexus still can't provide a vehicle that has lots of power that could satisfy an enthusiast, so sadly they remain off the consideration list.
Also the interior isn't great IMO in comparison to the competition. They are moving in the right direction with the NX but aren't there yet.
See my original comment. The nx as I thought a huge disappointment
That right car just isn't this Lexus. The NX350's delivers acceptable performance but nothing that will put the Germans on notice (or the Italians, for that matter). Light and accurate steering combines with solid handling, but in a segment of more than a dozen competitors, there are better choices for delivering joy on a winding road. Except for the unrefined vibrations multiple judges felt through the steering wheel. Motor Trend
Mine is ALL carbon fiber Circut Red with Black inserts.......LQQK's very sporty and is very luxurious.
@@donaldbanner2185 It might look sporty, but it doesn't and can't compete with the germans.
Just feels like a lackluster overall effort to me.

not sure if getting this or the IS350 f-sport .. it's mostly for myself. no kids but it snows here and rains a lot.
You’d be much better in the IS vs the dressed up rav4
@@naveenthemachine agree. i'm kind of dissapointed in the NX. way too underpowered.
@@dnavas7719 I’m extremely disappointed just as I had predicted when this first got unveiled
Most likely that engine will be in the 2023 Toyota Tacoma.
I highly doubt it.
@@AlaskanSnowLeopard If they want to compete with a better powertrain it would be who of them to put that in the 2023 Tacoma.
@@rockymountainbeerguy5656 They can't use this powertrain on the Tacoma because this powertrain was designed to be used as a FWD bias AWD. The Tacoma is a RWD/4WD body-on-frame pickup truck, so in order for this powertrain to work with it, Toyota will have to design a completely different drivetrain to make it work with that engine. It is possible that Toyota will use this 2.4 L turbo engine though.
Unless the Next Generation Tacoma will be a unibody design chopped off Highlander, I don't see them using this Powertrain on the Tacoma, but I can see that they will use this in the Highlander.
Great video
I’ll take this over the outdated RDX all day every day!! The RDX was nice when it came out but now it’s just dated. I will say Lexus could’ve done better w the interior plastics.. so disappointing. Hopefully they rectify that with the new RX
