I got my 2021 Crosstrek Sport in October and now have just over 8000 miles on it. Handles like a dream for me. I did go a little crazy on the upgrades, but I would not change a thing.
This thing needed at least 30HP more than the 2.slo/CVT offered. 'Great little car otherwise. It's AWD system works well enough that it can lift wheels at opposing corners and still keep climbing...if you gently stay on the throttle until the TCS figures things out. My open-diffed Jeep YJ wouldn't even do that unless I loaded heavy cargo in the rear and/or feathered the parking brake. A rear lunchbox locker helped that thing immensely. There's a rear lunchbox locker available for Crosstreks now too...and front/rear Cusco LSDs too. These cars will never be a Wrangler or Bronco for offroading, but their aftermarket support keeps improving, and they are surprisingly capable on sketchy surfaces for an AWD with fragile/vulnerable bumpers/rockers. Meanwhile, they can get some ridiculous MPG hwy if you set the cruise at the speed limit and travel in a middle lane. My 2.slo/CVT 1st-gen has averaged 45MPG+ on a tank with stock tires and an upgraded air intake/filter.
Halogen lights generate heat which melts snow. Would rather have halogens for the northeast winters personally plus bulbs are wallet friendly compared the leds. 2 things I wish it did come with are the Geolander ATs G015s and the rear armrest which the Canadian Outdoor variation does get. But to be fair there is no sunroof option on the Outdoor so. Oh, as far as the rear vents go. ...did ya look under the front seats?
I'd rather have halogens for the ice-melting too. I also can't yet get an affordable replacement factory LED unit off the shelf at ANY autoparts store in the country. My eyes work well enough that incandescent halogen headlights light up the road just fine. It's almost like people these days can't figure out how to use high beams, fog lights, or auxiliary driving lights. ...or they're just too blind to be driving at night. 'Might be too many laser surgeries, or lack of veggies in their diets.

Hold the brake and get the revs up before launch? Way up. Keep some spare driveline parts in the garage. Turbo kit...about $6K USD...plus tune? It IS a heavy little chunker. A 1995 Civic coupe or hatch was about 1600lb curb. A Crosstrek is around 3200lb curb.
Cubic feet/ inches never gave me a good idea as a viewer on the actual size or depth of the overall storage of the vehicle. I try bringing real world comparisons like how big of a tv you can fit with the back seats down, whether the center console is deep enough to fit bottles and how many (doesn’t have to be beer lmao), a glove box is the literal dimension of a license plate, so counting plates should give people a good idea of the glove box depth. It’s not like I’m saying “look at the size of this trunk, you can put 3 bodies in there”- Paul Vitti😂 appreciate your comment.

Ahh gotcha! I figured but they could honestly classify it as either or bc of the overall ground clearance compared to most modern SUV’s.
