Thank you for this straight forward detailed video brother. Just turned 18 bought this as my first first car grew up without a father. my moms always been took her cars for an oil change and now need to do and oil change for the g and now i can do hers and save ourselves a couple extra bucks
great job. you have more of a vested interest in doing things right on your own car. saves you money and you likely use a better quality oil and filter anyway.
Just did mine the other day, went to double check the sump plug then realised probably could do it without lifting the car, just feel for the screws once you know whats there
The crush washer being slightly larger than the head of the bolt is ok. If it's the wrong size (too large) washer, it might not sit flat if it hits the part of the oil pan where it curves up, which would be bad.
Hey there, I thought I replied to this a bit ago, but maybe I didn't hit the final button. Either oil weight will work as per the owner's manual. I started using 10w30 when some small drips started as it's a little thicker when cool. After replacing the oil cooler washer /gasket the drips stopped, but I just stuck with 10w30 as she's an old girl now, and she seemed to like the 10w30.
There are different rules for different cars, and different crush washers for different cars. Some people will reuse the old crush washer, but it's worth a few pennies to me to make sure it's done correctly and it won't leak: no one likes to go back under the car only to find a drip that could have been prevented by a little crush washer.
Sounds like it's been overfilled. make sure you actually drained the engine oil and not the transmission fluid by accident (I've seen this done before at a commercial lube shop)

appreciate the kind words. very nicely done. a skill you can use for many more years to come.
same bro
bro i’m scared i’ll drain the transmission oil instead of the engine oil
The most thorough video on this platform only has 5 likes. Give me a break. Thanks for the help
I was skeptical about doing my own oil changes before watching your video. Now I’m pissed that I let them gank me out 50 extra bucks, thank you!

Thanks for the tip on the oil cooler gasket! Much appreciated
Sure thing, if you have a drip, hopefully that's all it is for you too.

Great video
Thank you for the kind words.
my crush gasket is showing after i screw the bolt back on is that supposed to happen?

This is so helpful 😭
glad it helped. enjoy the oil changes
Yeah, it’s too bad. They didn’t make that rectangular hole in the cover wide enough. It’s such a pain to take off that cover each and every time.
Would have been nice for the designers to think of the workers aye?
Just curious, why 10w30 over 5w30?

Are you supposed to use a crush washer or is it just this car

@wellingtonviking ok I was wondering if I need a crush washer. Thanks
@@andrewaguirre7872 yes, it's needed
@@wellingtonviking ok thanks
I didn’t say with the socket size for the oil change bolt is. Is it 14 mm?
at 2:27 in the video. 14mm
Super clean undercarriage.
Thanks for noticing. I can't take too much credit for it though as we live on a paved roads and the city doesn't salt around here in the winter.
What type of crush washer is it?

My dipstick has oil all the way up-and-down it.

@wellingtonviking o ok thats what I was thinking
@@andrewaguirre7872 did you find out if the transmission fluid was accidentally drained or how the oil was so full?
@@wellingtonviking I don't think so
@@andrewaguirre7872 hopefully you find the root cause and can update it here in case someone else has a similar experience.
Use what they say 😂
Thanks for watching
