My daughter was beaten up in the park across the street from her junior high school. I called the school attempting to set up a conference with the parents. The principle told me that those girls parents were worse than the girls. So I went to talk to the girls myself. After they cursed me out and told me that they would kick my ass... I let them know what time it was and whey never bothered my daughter again. This so sad....from Compton.

I've actually met her a few times IRL, she's from the same small hometown in Arkansas as my dad and often comes to some of the annual hometown events. Every time I've met her she's been super nice and absolutely hilarious.

There should be an open forum where students are able to easily report anything to someone of authority. Even if it is something they think is small. It's also very important for parents to be involved in what's going on with their child. Things like this just don't happen out of no where. All students should be encouraged to tell of all things they witness anonymously without repercussions. If you see someone being bullied....laugh in the moment, but report it asap. It could be the difference in saving someone's life.

I think the situation is sad but you knew without even getting the story that there had to be some type of harassment or bullying going on. There isn't such thing as adult peer pressure and people feel the need to fill in even in college. I've been through it with my son. I have to let him know that he had to push back but he had a breakdown and was at the verge of suicide until I stepped in. I taught him not to run from bullies but to deal with them head on. When he returned the next year he returned a very different person. It was about 15 lb heavier and he wasn't taking any mess from anyone. All I have to say to him was you don't want me to have to come down there so I suggest you handle it yourself. He knows that I would have made it a very memorable moment for everyone so he made sure that he handled it and he hasn't had any problems ever since. Report bullies to school officials and even do police reports for your own protection but handle bullies. It's sad that this young man felt like this was the only way he could get some peace.

Me and my ex actually broke up our family because of his mother who felt as if she had the rights to him at all times. She treated him like he was her husband. She moved into our house and said it was to help us with the new baby and when she did that she would start doing his laundry literally came into our room separated his clothes from ours and washed and ironed them. They're from Trinidad and I'm from California so cooking was always a battle. She would say my son doesn't eat that to anything I cooked. She would call me a black whore then try to exclude me from events and functions. And the worse and most painful thing is that he allowed her to do this and said I didn't get it because we grew up differently. That he respects his mom and that he would do whatever for her. And I would have to understand. But I didn't. Never could. It's hurtful. And was to much. I started rebelling out of resentment and finally just took my son back to California. I always wander what would've happened had it just been us to figure life out together. A young, happy, family smh. Whew anyways this is what I thought about letting moms sit in the front🙂
Sounds like he was a boy, not a man. As much as leaving probably hurt you, it was the right thing for you, because you weren't happy and definitely not going to get any reprieve from him. And now you can model for your son the importance of being able to stand as a partner, as a man (not boy) in a r'ship.
