Ehhh sorry bout the sound in the small section of the video! All I say is that I’m trying Singang which is a dish that I ate a lot as a kid and that I spilled it when I tried to have some the day before 😂
I think you are being very kind to yourself in booking an airbnb for the first few days. Traveling in a new country, there lot to take in and it's really nice to have your little nest to return to. Love the new mic! You're going to find so much wonderful food as you travel!
Amazing video Loui,I’ve seen so many other videos like this on TH-cam and others media,For some reason this video of yours hits different when it comes to feeling what it’s like being someplace totally foreign,Awesome job
Thanks for filming your journey. Your videos will show me parts of the Philippines I otherwise would never see. I look forward to the next video. As an aside, I had a male nurse in the hospital in Dallas about 15 years ago. He was from the Philippines as there was a nursing shortage so hospitals were recruiting nurses from overseas. I learned that is grandfather was a doctor he like many other young men tend to take up the same line of work as other family members. Very good first impression from someone from the Philippines.
I’m so happy for you, I knew you would fall in love with the Philippines. Being someplace where you have ancestry, makes you feel connected to the world in a way that just can’t be fulfilled any other way.
You are amazing your new name should be amazing time Loui because you've been making content for your viewers and also doing your homework on your adventure lol we love you Loui your energy and spirit is amazing xoxo anyway keep enjoying yourself and stay positive 💪❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just be extra careful filming while you are walking, the thieves on scooters might see you as an easy target enjoy your journey and be mindful of the people and your surroundings' grasshopper Safe Travels Peace and Blessings One Love
Love this! Look at all the fruits and vegetables. I love markets. So happy you are getting your circadian rhythm in tune by getting the Airbnb. I can't wait to see more! Love you 🎉❤
You are so brave to travel alone! You have good senses and have shown you can follow when you feel unsafe. I pray you stay safe and enjoy yourself immensely!! Look forward to all your adventures.
Hey Louie 👋🏾 Always good to see you. It's a little strange seeing you and not seeing the Jeep and William. But I'm enjoying being there with you virtually. Be careful and safe.
I went to Cebu I 2004 as a volunteer nurse with a medical mission, repair cleft lips & palates of kids there. A great experience and very different from anywhere I had been. The poverty of some of the people was heartbreaking
Literally just happened upon your latest video from the Philippines. Think I watched you a year or more ago in your truck/van and lost you. At any rate, I enjoyed the video and wish you well in your discovery. I’m a retired Black American surgeon married to a Filipina for 36 years. We have four of you!!! Four biracial daughters, all grown and in their careers, and two grandchildren as well. Our daughters have spent a great deal of time in the Philippines and are very connected to both sides of their family. I encourage you to explore the provinces and see family if you can(i think you’ll find it very rewarding). But I’d also encourage you to explore BGC (we have a place there) to see the tremendously modern (much more so than you can see in Cebu. Although, Cebu in places is very nice). My daughters have all travelled for school semesters and years and found the experiences extremely rewarding. You of course did it across the states which was equally rewarding. I think this next iteration will be even more enjoyable. Mabuhay anak!
Problem with cities in the Philippines is that oppressive combination of heat, humidity, and pollution. Stay close to the sea breezes (it's cooler up north), and pay attention to weather reports, since they've been having a series of big typhoons and flooding. Rural coastal areas are calmer, cleaner, and (generally) safer, and people more relaxed. Plus, coastal fish markets are the best! -- Oh! I see you did end up on the coast! 👍
Overseas Tip: Take tissue with you everywhere and plan to know where the restrooms aka churches, firehouses, and hospitals are if you are eating street food like I did lol. If you find yourself going to Thailand or Japan take a dry off towel and deodorant with you... they're super expensive or hard to find overseas. Safe, safe travels & forehead kisses to you Loui, thanks for sharing the vid!
Bohol next? There are 2 Tarsier sanctuaries! If you see a bunch of stalls selling tourist crap, you're at the wrong one! 😂 Chocolate hills are cool too, hope you have your drone!
Don’t forget to enjoy a picnic in an underground river on Camotes Island near the village of Lloan not far from where you are. Also the whales not far from you in Oslob…Enjoy your time here..
don’t worry about using your camera around town, you will be approached and asked if you vlog and what your handle is because they will want to follow you! :-) ❤
Loui you are brave a.f. Foresty occasionally (nearly) runs into a bear, you are in a far more dangerous place. Please be careful (I know you are, but...) and enjoy an experience few of the remaining 7+ Billion humans will ever get to experience. Love from Ontario, Canada.
30c is about 86f. I'm guessing the humidity is high. 86f is not that hot, but if your humidity is 70+ it feels a lot hotter since it's hard to cool off by sweating. I'm sure it sometimes gets that hot in Canada, but with much lower humidity, no clue how hot the summer gets in Alaska when away from the ocean.
When the wife and I were first married and in a duplex, the single family house next door to us had a Filipino family living there. Became fast friends with the lady of the house, Nina. She would call me over and try Filipino dishes. Only one thing that I didn’t like, didn’t let Nina know, it was, “bitter gourd (melon), just couldn’t warm up to it, lol.
OK, the audio stopped and now I am happily watching this in silence. You need to get on a scooter and zip around! - Get a Honda Trail 125 and go on some adventures!
So was the sound supposed to go off about 4 mins in for about 2 mins? Im guessing that was the old mic. Looking forward to you travelling on a Jeepney :D
Subscriber here. Your probably already back in your home. But if your interested in some riding with English couple or dinner anything to help make your visit less stressful feel free to contact us. Haha not a pervert no ulterior motives. Enjoy your visit. I’ve been here many years
Hi from Australia Loui, I’ve been to Cebu, Manila and Nth Samar. The people are fine but it’s a 3rd world country with no hygiene. Beware the meat, much of it is fly 🪰 blown. My brother lives in Angeles City and he agrees. The only meat i ate there was from Burger King, their beef comes from NZ. Apart from that i went vegetarian. Enjoy your travels, but be careful of Isis kidnapping westerners especially at shopping malls. I received many email warnings from the Australian government.
I have no desire to go to other countries. Zero. Perfectly content to live in the States and see all that they have to offer. I am glad you're enjoying it and I know your travels are only just beginning. I hope this is a wonderful experience for you and you get back to your home, your dog and your Mom safely when it's all over.

It’s definitely beautiful. Any Culture shock outside the US is FRESH AIR for sure.
Crossing the road safely is a supreme body reflex :)
I'm enjoying these. Thanks.
Your comment that starting in Cebu was a good idea (right in the "belly") to help you get ready for the rest of the trip was so smart.
the mangos in Cebu are THEEEE best!!! and you have to try the lechon! sorry for hogging your comments section! LOL!
I’m half Filipino as well so I really appreciate this these vlogs!

GRAB is the Uber of SE Asia. Very useful!
I second grab. It’s so easy no scam way in SEA.
Yes I took Grab in Cebu to and from the Mall and from the airport. It was very cheap and safe!
