- File System Error (-2147219196) is a common problem on Microsoft photos on Windows 10, Today on this video, I will show you how we can fix File System Error (-2147219196) on windows 10 on Photos app.
Command Used: Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Remove-AppxPackage

After you apply this fix from this video you will no longer get File System Error (-2147219196) on Microsoft photos,
I did this and it still shows same error? I don’t know why it stopped. It was fine and suddenly stopped opening images and videos same error msg for both
now same thing is happening with me
i couildnt fix it without repairing windows. but for some reason even repair wont work. anyway i tried many different photo viewers and they all had similar issues, or said no permissions even though they were all stated as ok. there is 2-3 free ones i found tho that work for me and been good for a week now since i sent that last msg here. best simple one i found that works for me is pictureflect photo viewer from microsoft store. free version works fine & seems to do all the default one did. just make it default viewer or uninstall the garbage old one & hopefully u be good 👍@@integer9655
For those people like me, if the issue is still not resolved, I found a simple solution that worked:
" Go to Settings --> Apps --> Apps & Features. Then select and click 'Microsoft Photos' from the list. Click 'Advanced Options' and then press the 'Reset' button. Try opening the app again. Hope it works."
If it didn't work, then try first updating the windows default apps from the microsoft store and then reseting.
If still doesn't work, then you can try updating to a newer windows 10 version, if you haven't done that already.

@@integer9655 No. All of the "solutions" I've found don't work. I'm not a conspiracy guy but this is really bizarre.
@@dsgregg true.Sometimes it seems like technology isn't getting any easier, it's just getting out of control by the day. For example, mobile companies force devices to be updated and after a few days these updates make the devices extremely slow. Nothing to say.

The same for me, moreover is not possible to manage microsoft account in windows settings and taskbar is not working correctly: click on data/time doesn't open calendar. I tried all suggest online, chkdsk, sfc, dism, various commands on powershell (except reinstall windows on place) without success.

So this is basically uninstalling then reinstalling the Photos app again, isn't there a better way? Because for me it's happening on the other apps too like 3d viewer, the video player and music player as well

This cannot possibly be the fix as it also affects the MS default calculator app.
exactly the same with mine , found it bizarre the calculator was tied in , nothing worked following all the steps for me , any thing else to try or maybe a complete computer reinstall ?

Very clearly explained. Nevertheless, it did solve it. The first time when I tried it, it actually came up with the message you show "Deployment operation progress..... ". No luck. I tried again. This time the message did not come up. The result was the same.
It seems this error message (-2147219196) covers a multitude of sins. So, your expaination will cover some/many but not others. In fact, I have now tried a multitued of ways with no success. Yesterday I actually reset the system (2 hours) without actually get rid of Windows. As you can see I'm still getting the same problem.
