I believe the Holy Spirit has a character and should be referred to using the third-person pronoun. It may seem trivial but I think it matters. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree...because even in genesis, God said "let us create man in our image, according to our likeness".... the human essence is a mere image of the divine essence that is God.

you are displaying your ignorance of Catholic theology. the 'Roman' church is the Church founded by Christ, unlike the hundreds of protestant sects all founded by men and following the tradition of men. the Churches that go back to the Apostles (Catholic, Orthodox and Oriental) ALL honour and venerate the All Holy Virgin Mother of God. NONE OF THEM (including the Catholic Church) worship the Immaculate Virgin or equate her with God. try to educate yourself and don't be afraid to love Holy Mary, you'll never love her as much as Christ does. BTW; if we sinners can pray for each other how much better that the Holy Virgin prays for us. ***Ave Maria***

The Trinity is confusing because we know God, Jesus and the HS but the Trinity was meant to influence a polytheistic doctrine and that is sinful and harmful. For example: the polytheistic meaning of the Trinity has helped lead the church into thinking that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is dead and, therefore, the fear of God isn’t necessary. Jesus describes this process in the “vine” analogy when describing us abiding in Him.

Completely agreed. Not meaning to belittle his explanation, and quite the opposite, appreciate and respect any good Christian service and act to spread the Gospel and salvation of Christ, as everyone has different role as parts of one body of Christ. That said, I increasingly see Christian apologists (like Christian Prince, David Wood, Bob of Speakers Corner/SOCO Films), rather than preachers, doing much better work on explanation of matters like Trinity, etc. I think that's a function/result of their (apologists/ ministry to the unbelievers and in that journey even their defending Christianity from the unbelievers polemics/attacks on the Christian faith.

Did I understand correctly that we can pray to the Holy Spirit and thank him? I don't believe that's correct, because I don't read it in God's Word that we should pray to the Holy Spirit. Or do you know a passage in the Bible that speaks of someone praying to the Holy Spirit or that Jesus taught to pray to the Holy Spirit? I agree with you that the Holy Spirit is the power through whom we pray to Jesus...but the Holy Spirit does not serve to glorify himself, but always to glorify Jesus and God (John 16:14). So we should always thank Jesus for working in us through the Holy Spirit...but not thank the Holy Spirit for working in us. When we are guided in prayer by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will never thanks himself.

You cannot put God in a box! Because the Father speaks from heaven does not take at all from Christ being God. The Lord is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent (can be anywhere at the same time). The Holy Spirit is not a dove! It is God's same Spirit anointing the man, Christ Jesus.

  • @makerealitygreatagain8809

That didn't make anything any clearer, at all.
Look, this is an issue for a lot of people coming to the church and getting comfortable with Christianity.
There are clear verses that appear to contradict each other. In order to make sure all bases are covered without obvious bias, you must cover all the verses that touch on who god is, who Jesus is and who the holy spirit is, what they say word for word and why someone should not take one verse literally over another, because that is what is happening.

Thinking of God any other way than the trinity is just creepy to me. If Jesus is God and He is, then you have to believe in the trinity. God is omnipresent so there has to be a trinity. • @claudiozanella256
    @claudiozanella256 ปีที่แล้ว

"Baptize them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." They are three divine NAMES, not three divine PERSONS! No trinity exists! Who are they?
    1. the FATHER :
" so that they may behold that glory of mine, which you have given to me, for you loved me BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD. 25"O righteous Father, indeed THE WORLD HAS NOT KNOWN YOU, but I HAVE KNOWN you, and these have known that you sent me."
The Father is NOT here, He was NEVER here, the world did NOT KNOW Him at all! He still is absent, indeed Jesus HAS KNOWN HIM (i.e. in the past). This is why "No man HAS SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME." INVISIBILITY is not the real reason, the actual reason is that GOD (i.e. the Father) IS ABSENT!
    2. the SON:
He is the Son, the ONLY KING of heaven...(to be continued)
    3. the HOLY SPIRIT:
you see in 1. that the Father IS ABSENT. However - even if personally missing - God is able to be here IN THE FORM OF A SPIRIT. This means that you have a GOD'S PRESENCE here, He is PRESENT here with his feelings, his words, his actions, but actually NOBODY IS HERE. He is the "SPIRIT OF GOD" ( "God is a spirit" Jn. 4:23,24). The "Spirit of God" is synonymous with "Holy Spirit" (see Mt. 3:16). In other words, Jesus has a "FATHER who is a SPIRIT" and calls Him sometimes "Holy Father", sometimes "Holy Spirit" according to circumstances. Thus, Jesus never says He is "with 1. the Father AND WITH 2. the Holy Spirit" because they are just TWO EQUIVALENT NAMES for the SAME ONE SPIRIT. Jesus doesn't even know what a triune God is.
