- Good Morning, I'm Jessica! Today I'm starting this 16 patch quilt. The special thing about this is that you can make 3 baby quilts with one jelly roll and background or you can make one large throw with one jelly roll and background.
If you make quilts to donate, this is a great pattern to use.

I have been quilting for roughly 40 years, but almost always hand piecing and hand quilting. I was never drawn to using a sewing machine. However my hands don’t like hand quilting anymore ( get too stiff and sore) 😢😢😢 I recently wondered whether I should give machine piecing a go, so I went to you tube and stumbled on your channel. I’m now inspired to have a go! You explain things so well and make the whole process easy to understand and manageable. And you make beautiful quilts! Thank you!
I'm sorry you can't hand piece and hand quilt like you used to but I hope you give the machine a try! It's wonderfully fun. Thanks for watching my videos!
Simple and CUTE! Thank you for sharing!
You are an excellent instructor. ❤
Lovely and easy pattern. Thank you, Jessica.
I need three baby quilts for triplets, arriving in March/April. This is a great idea. 😍😍😍
That is perfect!! I've always wanted triplets!!
Thanks so much, Jessica! I’ve been looking for a project to take on a trip with me, I’ll have a sewing machine etc., but didn’t want to take a bunch of yardage. This is perfect. Love all of your shortcut hints, they are so helpful!! Thanks again!
Pretty simple but so nice !
Thank you , Jessica ❤
Thank you!
I love the “simple” block quilts.
Thanks!
I do, too! I love a double four-patch. And I love a 16-patch, also; it’s easy to put stuff together.
I learn sew much from you with every video. Thank you!! 😊
I'm so glad!
An easy and quick quilt ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing. I do charity quilts for our NICU. This will make a nice addition to the different patterns.
Wonderful!
I enjoy your videos and the pace is great!!
Glad you like them!
This is so stinking cute❤
Thank you!
Great pattern for making cute quilts!
Glad you like them!
Good Monday morning !
Great idea ! Thank you for sharing this idea❤🙏
Good Monday morning to you too! Thanks for watching!
Another great pattern and tutorial. Wanted to let you know that I hand bound a baby quilt over the weekend using your method! The binding feels so much sturdier by doubling the thread. I was a bit “all thumbs” when trying to join threads to continue but I am sure practice makes perfect as they say😊. Your tips and tricks are just great- thanks!
I'm so glad you think so!! I have never had a binding come undone this way and it feels study for me too.
I love it! I was just looking for a baby quilt pattern. Thanks
Wonderful!
Great video, thanks. What brand is your cutting mat? Mine is dark green and my aging eyes need a light colored mat, like yours. I haven’t found one online yet.
It's by The Tattooed Quilted from Riley Blake Designs.
Jessica, why did you only make 9 sets of 4 straps when there are 40 straps in a jelly roll. Also, since you cut your strip sets in half before pressing, why not cut the straps in half before making the sets so that you would have more variety in the strip sets?
Just wondering
Because you only need 9 sets of 4 for the pattern. You can cut them before piecing if you want more variety.
