After seeing his interview with Bob, I bought his book and read it cover to cover. His thoughts (although I don't agree with them all) are PROFOUND! What a pleasure it would be to be camping and spend some time around the campfire hearing Randy! Thank You for doing this video
What a sweet homosapian, he knows what the most interesting questions are. As we all should do is help a young one shine.😚 Randy was so sweet to his young interviewer, I hope she knew she was blessed by Randy🙌✌
Thank you and curious about Randy's rig in this interview. I've seen the travel trailer but this rig looks new, and expensive. Curious about the apparent change in rigs and how he could afford it given his monthly budget? Thanks again.
It’s a used shuttle bus that he’s pulling the same old trailer with… it was actually a very budget conscious decision to replace his aging and underpowered truck, since at the time older shuttle busses could be had for a steal.

This was recorded near Cottonwood, AZ. "Out here" applies to quite a few places in Arizona (but also in other south-western states) where you can camp for free (most are limited to 14 days in a 30 day period, but the next nice camp site is usually never far away). In the summer there are higher elevations to escape the heat and in the winter, the deserts around Quartzsite, Yuma etc. have an almost perfect climate. Search for the RTR or Rubber Tramp Rendezvous if you want to meet like-minded RV and Vandwellers.
Thank you for your response. I have looked into the RTR but it's not until January 2019...I'm hitting the road in September. Any suggestions on where to head at that time? And for October and November? Thank you so much for your video. Safe travels.
You can't go wrong with Arizona, so if this state is in your itinerary, you'll find many places and people around that time of year (actually all year round depending on altitude ;). There is another popular event called Jamie's Van Build, which is usually happening early November (but it has not been announced yet) near Lake Havasu (on public or maybe soon on private land - the host Jamie was thinking about possibly buying a plot of land around there) where many people from the community come together to work on and help each other with RV, bus, truck or van projects.
any ideas on how to purchase the book directly from Randy? Amazon only has Kindle version and I don't want another account on yet another website. Do you know if Randy is able to accept a Paypal payment? Thanks
I think the Amazon E-Book may be the only edition that is currently available, but you could try to contact Randy directly through his blog to see if he has any printed copies left: mobilecodgers.blogspot.com/
I like the philosophy of this gentleman. But this interview is a prefect reflection of the absurdity of the morally bankrupt system we are living in. Please, this is no criticism here but how can one see a reason to live, when there is no cause to fight for. Like the poverty and despair of others, the collapse of our ecosystem or the social injustice in society. Unless a person has a reason to live for other than himself, he will die. First mentally, then emotionally, then physically. Believe it or not some of these words came from Richard Nixon....
It appears that you are assuming that Randy advocates ALL people should be self-centered pleasure seekers. Not to worry... there will ALWAYS be a portion of society who is obsessed with all of the nonsense you mentioned - and thank goodness for that! Social justice? Take a sip from the well of reality already. As long as there are opposing views on EVERYTHING from the size of soda bottles to Derek Chauvin's intentions, injustice will prevail on either side of the fence in perpetuity.
Great interview thanks for doing this video. Cheers and namste.
Part 2 was just wonderful! Appreciate all the philosophy, warmth, contentment, and invitation to participate.
