As a dicemaker, I don't mind sharing my processes because I know that nobody will get exactly the same results and most will go out of their way to put their own spin on things
Y’all can also be proud of the work and practice you put in to get your results the way you want them! Even if I followed step by step there’s no way I’d be able to get anything to come out this good without failing a couple hundred times first.
That peeling of the clear shell is a huge piece of information! I would not have thought to do that. Thank you for the piece of knowledge. BTW, I'm polishing some week old dice now as I watch your video.😊👍
I am just beginning my dice making journey and I am so grateful for artists like you who share their techniques ❤ it helps me learn so much, so thank you!! Also these planet dice are the coolest dice I've ever seen, incredible!😍
Omg, they are utterly stunning 😍I was watching the ending as if it was a romantic sitcom or something and wishing my favorite characters to finally get together 😂🤣 the happy ending was so relieving, thank you for sharing 🥰
These are so beautiful! I’m just obsessed with the way the nebulas wrap around the planets a bit. I think these might possibly my favourite dice I’ve ever seen!
Dude! So much effort! Not going to lie, I'm going to leave this style to you after seeing the amount of love that goes into them, but always glad to see someone pushing the limits
These are so gorgeous! Could you do a video on the way you make the molds for the planet inclusions? I can't ever get "sphere" shapes to mold properly! It's such a pain.
Thank you! I can definitely add it to the list. For a written explanation, I just superglued a broken toothpick (so I had a larger surface to glue) to a point on the sphere, stuck the other end of the toothpick in a cone of clay, and viola!
The red planet dice were a journey! But I’m so glad to hear you gave yourself time to get back to them and were successful the second time try! These are stunning ✨💕
Thank you!! The red planets were my bane, this video would have been finished like a month ago without their trouble hahah. But at least it was a good learning experience! 😄
Wow, I have never seen dice like these. They are so gorgeous. Also I'm sorry for the accident with the outer layer but it made me chuckle that you can "just" pull it of and make a new one. Keep up your great work!
Those look great! When shelling blanks I put a drop of 99% IPA in the mold before I add resin. Then I wait 3-5 minutes before I add the blanks. That did wonders for getting rid of bubble issues. Delaminating blanks can be a mixed bag. The best results come if the blanks fully cure before the next step. The further away from the "firm to the touch" stage the less likely they'll chemically bond. If their finish is smooth they'll struggle to mechanically bond making them easier to delaminate as well. If you rely on a mechanical bond it'll be easier to delaminate if you demold a couple of hours earlier.
These are SO FREAKING COOL! Also, I burst out laughing when you said you turned your tears into rage and just ripped the casing off the failed set haha. You went through the stages of grief and literally won once you got to anger haha.
This was super informative. Glad to see my thought process on this was similar too! Helped fill in the gaps on how people do all the suspension and all that. Thank you!
I've been in the on-and-off again process of setting up my own dicemaking setup for months now (lots of kinks in the road; moves, new jobs, etc.), and you are definitely an inspiration when it comes to craftsmanship. The next step is to build my own fume hood so I don't gas myself and my cat 😅fingers crossed I can get it to work! Great work on your end as always.
I am just starting to make resin product, and am finally shifting to dice soon and i want to say this. The dice you make are beautiful and I love the design. Me and my partner stumbled on you and we ma have only seen shorts of your dice, but we love each one we see. I hope to take inspiration from your dice and this video is making me want to concur my fear of making my own molds. I cant wait to watch more of these videos with my partner.
OOoo they are stunning!! I have been making dice for nearly a year now, I just made my first set with a blank insert mold....and the final outer layer I must have been too keen, mixed poorly and the layer came out squishy...I am now going to attempt to delaminate it like you did to try save my insert!! Thank you!
omg I lost it when you started peeling off the dice XD I mean this in the most respectful, amused way. it was actually a very intelligent and creative idea to save some hard work and make amazing dice. well done!
i saw that you said you "de gas" with a heat gun. try putting you cup of resin in another cup or bowl of hot water. it will heat up the resin and the bubbles will raise easier. so a cup with in a larger cup/bowl.
I've just found your channel and I'm blown away! I tried to make dice before but I struggled to get the top face nice and level, I ended up with a tiny bubble each time, but I'm not going to give up!
Your planet dice are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing these techniques! I think you also just saved me tons of time & tears with that amazingly de-lam/shell peel process. I had no idea that was possible & have tossed out more than one detailed diorama due to mystery shell bubbles- thank you! 🫧💜
Love you sharing this. ❤ there are to many dicegoblins out there for just one dicemaker. We need to share more so we can do it together 😂 Do you make your master blanks or do you order them somewhere? I now ordered at to different stores masters + blanks but they never fit as good as yours 🤔
Thank you! Currently my active masters (blanks and dice) are from Cleric’s Components, but I’ve also gotten both from Arcana Cast and found they fit very nicely as well ☺️
These dice sets are absolutely stunning omg 😍. I really want to start making my own dice and this vid was so educational. When framing the dice, are you using a mold that is slightly bigger than the original dice or are you using the same molds? Thank you ☺️
I think what happened to you is that maybe the square mold might have had moisture in it? Caused the bottom face to foam but the pressure pot made the flaws look like micro bubbles? Who knows.
These are seriously so good! I cannot wait until you have more available 😍 they are so pretty. Just joined the patreon so I can get a chance on future drops 🤞
Lamento no hablar inglés, pero tengo una pregunta muy importante. Si quiero empezar a hacer dados, tengo que hacer mis propios numeros (Tipografía)? O puedo usar cualquiera?
Does putting things in the dice affect the use of the dice? Like if one side is more heavy could that make the dice more likely to throw a certain number which would affect the outcome of any game u play with them?
@@leobullock3859 yep! Like the video shows, everything is made out of the same exact resin, there’s nothing in the dice that should or would negatively impact the balance ☺️

Hahhaha thank you!! This style is definitely a ton of work, but the results make it worthwhile 😄

i love the crisp cage lines, but it could be cool to embrace the jitter (and exaggerate it lol) for a more grunge/dark design.

Gorgeous dice! You're so talented and creative❤😊
You make THE coolest, most innovative dice.
Thank you for showing your process. I find videos like this relaxing in an odd way. 😅 ❤
These are amazing! I love the full elongated set! Would love to see a pour video for your cloud elongated sets 😍

Hahahah thank you, I also found it hilarious when I realized I could just…angrily peel the shell off and start over 🤣

Thank you!! Learning shells can be peeled was so shocking, I can’t imagine how many sets I could’ve saved if I knew sooner, so I’m happy to share!! ☺️

Shape edge, very nice
So how did you make the planet molds? did you just superglue a toothpick or something to the planet to use as a sprue?
These are seriously so good! I cannot wait until you have more available 😍 they are so pretty. Just joined the patreon so I can get a chance on future drops 🤞
Thank you so much! The long set was sold last month but the red planets (and possibly a pink planet set as well) will be up for grabs this month 🥰
@@dreamy_dice oh buddy!!! That red planet set is so cool!! I'm excited🤞
I love them so much!
Do you not worry about when adding the alchohol ink it will mess with the ratio of the resin?

so pretty thank you
is that 2nd clearcoat mold bigger than the original mold or is it the same one?
sheesh, you peeled those dice like oranges lol
Heheheh yessssss. I really wanted to get a full peel as one piece, like an orange, but didn’t quite manage it 😂
Look like Ruidian dice from. Critical Role camp3. Awesome
you sell the molds?
Are these balanced?
@@leobullock3859 yep! Like the video shows, everything is made out of the same exact resin, there’s nothing in the dice that should or would negatively impact the balance ☺️
They are not my cup of tea - but I enjoyed watching you creating them. Good job!
