I wasn't prepared to fall completely in love with Andy Karl, but hoo boy, I am.

Watching this while Andy is back in London playing Phil Connors again. I’m so pleased he came back to Groundhog Day’s original home.

This is one very smart and thoughtful man. It's really a shame Groundhog Day is closing. I read that the movie wasn't a huge hit with audiences and critics in the beginning either. I bet this show will eventually be hailed and have many revivals because it really is a work of art --- the music is terrific. I'm grateful that I got to see Andy Karl's performance because it's so beautifully sung and acted. No wonder Bill Murray cried seeing it. And Andy Karl really is different in every show he's done over the years. Check out Kyle against Jersey Boys to Rocky. Where is he? In fact, like really great actors he disappears from view while the character emerges. I hope he gets to do some dramas playing against type -- bet he would be fabulous in Mamet even.
