I used to live here. I was also born here and grew up here. I moved to S.C. about 2 years ago and I miss Rutherford SO much. I can still remember most of the buildings in the postcards.
This is beautiful. I lived on Lincoln Avenue and attended kindergarten and first grade at Pierrepont School in 1951-53. I didn't see my house in the photos, bu t it was there. According to Zillow, it was built in 1900. I think that park where the monument is was where we walked to on Summer evenings for band concerts. I wish I could have grown up there, but we moved all the time. Even now if I have trouble falling asleep at night I'll walk those streets in my mind.
Great photos of Passaic,I lived in Delawanna and took the bus for music lessons on Main ave. The 74 bus round trip $0.24, O'Brien O'Deas on Lexington Ave.for records. We had to cross the Erie railroad tracks which ran through the middle of town. Cheap John's for shoes,Rutblatt sport shop for hunting items. PepBoys for budget car tires ($12.00 each) Life was good, we have great memories.
lmao, until recently, I lived in one of those buildings at 2:57. It's awesome to see so many buildings are up today. And the cannon balls were stolen so many times. Now it's just a flat setup of nine cannon balls cemented into the ground. Thank you for the upload :D
