I just want to say i've been breastfeeding straight for almost 5 years, two children and am still feeding both babies- my 3 and almost 5 year old. VERY PROUD and when they were both babies I almost gave up. Never give up mamas!- And we are all vegan in our family, so this was super informative for me. Love you Ellen, so much!

I met two girls a few years ago who were in their teens and had been vegan since birth, they were both over 5 feet 10 inches, in great shape, and incredibly healthy and happy.

Hey Ellen, did not even had the time to listen/watch to this ep., but already wanna tell you how much I appreciate you, your hard work, your mission and your great exAmple of vegan, mom, hard worker, human, sister! I have been going madly through the epis as they come out, and honestly some of then have shaped my way of seen life (ep with Kim, recently joined one of her Saloons with my husband, ep with the author of Fiber Fueled- still waiting on the second ep by the way! - reinforced my understanding of a healthy gut and its greater benefits... and the ep with Dr. Klaper, he is the cutest and most kind and nice to listen too...) Just THANK YOU ELLEN

Just got back from my pediatrician appointment for my 6mo old and I was told emphatically to start my baby on whole cow's milk when she turns one - and a lot of it. That was a big no for me. This even came from a DO and not an MD! I wish this message was more widely spread amongst medical professionals.

Ellen, you made a comment about hoping that you really shared the beauty and benefit of breastfeeding. I just wanted to share with you that you have absolutely done that. When I was first postpartum, really struggling with breastfeeding, I would watch your videos to see how much breastfeeding was a natural part of your everyday routine. It encouraged me to keep going. I had to exclusively pump for several months but finally got back to exclusively nursing after 4 months PP and we are still enjoying our nursing journey over a year into it. 🥰 Thank you so much for inspiring and encouraging us to breastfeed.

What I found very inspiring is a teaching called "Raising Children" by Marshall Vian Summers. It was so full of wisdom and I wish I was raised that way myself. It's free to read online, and is quite quick to read.

Anyways, just came to swing over and say I’ve been really enjoying all your podcasts so much! They are so informative, educational, and empowering! I’m actually not vegan or plant based / predominant now, but really would love to transition there. Your podcasts just feel so supportive. (I also don’t have kids but still fully enjoyed this podcasts - it really is such a blessing to learn about some of this hugely impactful stuff now before my time comes to start a family) Thank you 🙏🌱💫

Everytime I listen to you, I am so willing to start getting into the vegan diet especially for my kids. But when reality hit, I'm like it's too complicated 😱 I can't find the time to cook or think about "vitamins, no vitamins" "if I have this so I need to eat it with this" "how to cook this?" "How to make it taste nice?" So much time to learn, experience. And I do not enjoy or have the time to cook. I don't understand how you do it with soon 5 kids around. I can only admire you. Maybe I'll get there one day. Defo added more fruits and veggies to my diet though since I've known you 👍

I love this episode Ellen, thank you! It is just what I needed. We are on a health journey and went completely sugar-free. However, it is a struggle to get the kids more used to veggies and less empty carbs. I really appreciate the tips for picky eaters but even more the attitude parents needs to be able to stand up for what they think is best for their kids. I guess I wasn't 100% living it myself (because everyone around me judges, gives "good advice" on how the kids should grow up etc.). I needed to hear that so thank you!! By the way: You are glowing and your hair looks amazing. Pregnancy suits you well

I think it's fine to raise your kids with the food you feel is right.
But my issue is when the kid is not thriving and you're so set on your agenda you'll let them struggle. I tried breast feeding for example. My son couldn't get enough food, just wanted to eat constantly. Found out later he was lactose intolerant, but I listened to my baby. Everyone said let the baby eat what they wanted, but I knew feeding for 10 hours straight wasn't normal or healthy for anyone. It was the best decision and I made it for my child, not an agenda.

Following along agreeing with most things. But 40% of people have a mutation called MTHFR Gene mutation. They are unable to properly use fortified foods that are fortified with folic acid. They need the real folate in fact they won’t be able to process folate if they have foods with folic acid. It’s kind of new science but it would be good to have the doctor and you educated on this a little bit. Many birth issues like tongue tie and other midline defects even miscarriages are tied to this mutation. Methyl B’s, folate or folinic instead of folic acid.

What a lovely person that’s very well spoken! Loved this! Liver and spleen and other animal organs have become very popular. Something that you have said Ellen is our teeth and that’s a sign of what food we should be eating. That has stuck with me. A fun podcast idea I have learned so much about is the myths about the sun! How it can be so healing. It’s very controversi al! But very intriguing:)

Good grief thank you for addressing ancestral eating && saturated fat && industry influence. I spent so much time doing deep dives into the WAP research and just was like this doesn’t check out/add up but everyone is swearing by this what am I missing. You have to follow the money I think. I appreciate the nuance yall cover about how far back, and how deficiencies existed then too, and how ancestral diets change based on where you are, what was happening (famine? Winter? Etc) and how it’s not as simple as saying YES to this or that always. We’re fancier people than that 😉 And we are in a society (if in North America, as that’s all I can speak to) where we can know better and do better with our choices to meet our access and convenience needs AND nutritional needs without much harm (though it’s impossible to avoid all together, yes). This was a great talk, thanks Ellen!!
