Kenmore Progressive (116.23912300) Canister Vacuum Cleaner

A family member found this at the Goodwill Outlet Store in Hampton, VA for $4. An Outlet Store is where they throw all their old, broken, and unwanted stuff that wouldn't make it onto or failed to sell on the regular Goodwill floor. They place everything in bins and customers sort through the unsorted items to find what they want. A lot of things are priced by weight, but electronics and appliances are priced separately and heavily discounted. This was there because it failed to sell at another local thrift store. The only thing wrong with it is that it has a broken mount for the bag door. The one that is not broken does the job, though. It would be nice to have both, but it does not change the performance. I am going to be selling this one since I have another one that is the same other than the exhaust design. These are nice machines, so I do want to keep one.

I have same one works great only issue from day one cord winds very slow you have to help it spring seems weak took it to Sears and the floor model did same thing there was a bullitin saying they reduced spring tension as a safety measure to reduce whipping and strangling children ? So I guess you live with it but I’ve had sinse 2000

What happened to the head light? My grandmother had the same one but a 2000 model. It was red and the light kept flickering

You have to Replace the front headlight on the vacuum cleaner

This canister is the earlier model or version of the Kenmore Progressive Cansiter that I have, I'm guessing mine was made from 2005-2009. th-cam.com/video/GLjW1LKcnVI/w-d-xo.html

I'm guessing it's between Late 1990's to early 2000's.

Mid 2000s. 2004/2005 or so

I think it's 2005-07 or so, since this body style came out in 2005. This would be the top of the line model, since it has the dirt sensor and LED light on wand, plus the touch pads. After that there was a yellow version which was similar except it had the slider controls instead of touch pad.
