One way to enjoy Zwift is to join a team and take part in some of the races and events. I joined one in early 2017 and aside from our Zwift efforts we've met up to ride in many locations...Triple Bypass in Colorado, Mallorca, Wales, Yorkshire and Germany. Food for thought regarding the social aspect of Zwift. Lots of good training programs on Zwift. Are they as structured as Trainer Road or Sufferfest....no, but with company training can be more enjoyable. Thanks as always KK.
I want to thank you for this video because it got me back onto Zwift after a knee injury this spring and a broken toe last month. It wasn't much of a ride, but I started and did it at my level. Thank you again!
This is amazing to see. I just got started on zwift and power training having only used my HR out on the road. You're ability to do 300, 400, or even 500+ audax rides with insane elevation is a testament that FTP isn't everything.
Oooooh yeah defo take it steady, but that's the beauty of Zwift... you can slowly and easily build back up and get off if you feel any pain. The BEST recovery tool for getting back on the bike :)
Lets go katie put in those miles during winter , come spring you body will be stronger and adjusted to stress es cycling demands of the body. Have a fantastic week.
Funny that here in Tucson (Arizona) winter is the time to ride outside! Only on the weekends, because it gets dark fairly early and I prefer daylight. But, the weather is amazing in the winter... the rest of the year is indoor riding (for me at least) because it's so damn hot! LOL! 🚴. I will plan my structured training in the spring-summer time.
Starting back again this week too, after a (too) long lay off. Great video as always! See you on Zwift, but won’t be chasing you up the Alpe in the fast group anytime soon 😂
@@KatieKookaburra Deal. If I’m home from work on time on Tuesday, I’ll come and join you again. Be gentle with me! 🤣 Seriously, I’ve lost so much fitness since the North-West, South-East 400km. Need to get back on track over winter.
Great video Katie, very informative, thanks. I have just signed up to Zwift for 12 months and want to start a training plan and will definitely look into Zwift Academy. You are right consistency is key. What do you mean about not talking up climbs?
Woop woop Stevie!!!! YAsss you will love it!! Get stuck into and I have a beginner series for Zwift so they will help if you want to get the best out of Zwift x
The more you ride the more levels you unlock. Or… sneaky tip… I lead a Alpe ride EVERY month first Tuesday of the month at 7pm uk time. Anyone can come on that :) xx
Those climbers are really next level! I have a mate Frankie who is a climber, riding single handed, while taking a video and smiling away, while im pushing 350w up the climb! Life is unfair sometimes
Am I missing out much by using an old fashioned turbo trainer? Have had a long debate with one of my mates who assures me once I've used Zwift I'll never leave it. It just seems too much of an investment when I feel similar things can be achieved with good discipline on my current setup. Thoughts?
It's far easier on zwift and a smart trainer with ERG. Hard to cheat when it holds you to specific power. Don't have to look at the clock and constantly check power. THat said...you probably don't have to work about a lot of the stupid workouts that jump all ove the place to keep it interesting and instead stick to proper workouts that are far better for you...unless you create your own or use non zwift programs. for what my opinion is worth. It's a tool and used right its great.
Yes, if in free ride then it replicated the feel of the road you are on in Zwift. That's why I love the Alpe because it always feels like a climb because it is one :)
Level ups come with time and distance put in on zwift. You gain xp points for completing routes too. I do a lot of the "zwift tour" group rides. They are often double xp points, so you level up faster. And every "group ride" basically turns into a race. So fitness gets a boost too. 😮
I watched you suffer with pleasure. I mean, sports like this demand sufferance, and sufferance (if chosen for this purpose) is the other side of fun, pleasure, satisfaction, self-actualization
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So not true. Get on Zwift and you'll be able to ride, and make friends, with lovely people from every corner of the world. I am studying French now. Solely because of the awesome French people I've met on Zwift. 🇫🇷+🇺🇸=❤️ P.S. I am also studying British English now because of all the darling folks from the UK I've met on Zwift. Unfortunately, even though I am from the US, I find British English quite a bit harder then French. 🙄😳🤣🤣🤣
Go katie!!! Really enjoy your videos. Cycling is helping me recover from a broken heart, excess weight and I´m enjoying life more.

You can ride forever if you ride slow enough. Comparing two different metrics.
I was expecting to see you on a sunny island all winter this season!
Well… ☀️☀️☀️☀️
Go Katie!! Can’t wait to get back on Zwift to, but will probably have to take it slow with that new piece of metal in my hipbone. 🥴

Amazing video I really struggle doing zwift when on my period as my mood changes rapidly 😂

Congratulations on reaching 120 K subscribers
Thank you!!! WOOP WOOP!!!

Informative as ever Katie! Love your videos! 🚴🏻♂️😎👍

Ay Andy, I am leading the sub-90 group at the min so come do that!! I need to get that fitness back for the sub 60 haha

Excellent. I have had a look at the videos you mentioned and they are perfect, thanks. See you on the Alpe!
Currently doing Crit crusher. Should have known better that zwift academy was around now I have to do my training along with the academy. Oh well.
Great video
So I signed up and just did the #2 training ride. I missed the first one… can I still go back and do it?
Looks like I will be joining you soon. I took advantage of the Wahoo offer.
Road to Sky is level-locked. Can you explain for us newbies? How do you unlock? Thanks Katie!
The more you ride the more levels you unlock. Or… sneaky tip… I lead a Alpe ride EVERY month first Tuesday of the month at 7pm uk time. Anyone can come on that :) xx
Gotcha. And thanks for the tip Katie! 3pm EST yes?
That was a great effort and performance on the 8-min Free Ride. 💪👏💪👏💪👏💪👏💪👏
Awwwww thank yoooooou!!! :)
Well done, good effort, top sweating!
Those climbers are really next level! I have a mate Frankie who is a climber, riding single handed, while taking a video and smiling away, while im pushing 350w up the climb! Life is unfair sometimes
Noticed the bone conductors instead of earphones. Is it a case of them being ones you use or do you enjoy hearing the bike on the trainer?
This bike is soooo quiet anyways but the Shokz headphones are so comfy and you never get the yank earphone hell haha. Love these ones :)
Awesome, can we get a video about your set up and calibration etc
Thank you
Yes absolutely! I did one recently… it’s the video… th-cam.com/video/D3jRHocE5IE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nXturpbjyXh0Ca66
And no calibration for my Tacx bike or the Neo 🙌🏼
What trainer you using
250w on the 8 min free ride! Woohoo! Well done! 👏💪👍😊
멋져요!!!!
Love your videos. Have just come back to cycle after 2 years from a near death accident. What turbo trainer do you use am I'm looking to get one.
Oooof so sorry to hear that. Glad you’re ok!! It’s in this video the current set up…th-cam.com/video/D3jRHocE5IE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b6FjA4QBqI7BrIIt
In short it’s Tacx Neo smart bike :)

for what my opinion is worth. It's a tool and used right its great.
So passionate and beautiful…and learning a lot. Hats off to you! Ride on!😊
Just doing vo2 sessions atm the moment, try breakfast returns, spin 115 rpm in the red and 85 rpm in recovery, can I shite do the recovery
Can I use my power meter to do the workout?
YES!!!! Absolutely !!!
I always sign up to a plan and fail because any chance of sun I'm outside cycling instead 😅
Well just do the training outside too :)
Buns up so Katie means business. That last 8 minute effort 😬
Do you get the resistance for the gradient in “free mode” if you’ve picked a hill climb route like that?
Yes, if in free ride then it replicated the feel of the road you are on in Zwift. That's why I love the Alpe because it always feels like a climb because it is one :)
Katie, I'm new to Zwift, did you get to Level 45 over time or by doing hard work or both. I'm just not sure what the level represents?
Definitely both. I am VERY consistent on Zwift but don't worry about levels, just get on and ride and enjoy! :)
Level ups come with time and distance put in on zwift. You gain xp points for completing routes too. I do a lot of the "zwift tour" group rides. They are often double xp points, so you level up faster. And every "group ride" basically turns into a race. So fitness gets a boost too. 😮
Nice one
like a pro... more like a carthorse😀
Hahaha how rude 🐴🐴🐎
Can we get a cheeky link to Mark the trainer?
YES absolutely!!! He's a GEM :) www.revolutioncyclecoaching.com
Are you on turbo trainer and using lap top?
Yup! :)
Did you not fancy the struggle Sunday?
Was on a 200km Audax :)
Was a really good event I’m going to get into audax’s look great, another 12 months of fitness and I think I will be there 😊
Wow you’re so strong
Well done skinny k u smashed it 👏

190❤😢
C'mon Katie!
You're not @220W FTP. You're a beast!
I reckon you're more like 240, at least.
Let's get sweating👍
💦💧🥵🥵🥵
Interestingly, Katerina still follows a vegan diet?!
I surely do!
nice average w/kg on the free ride.
1st
Heeeeeyyyyyyy
indoor riding is so boring!
though it's still better than being out there in the cold or rain, hard wind or obnoxious car drivers.
Ok, thank you for sharing.
No it's not, zwift makes it fun. I said the same thing just over a year ago. 😅😅

@@jim_nix71 I ride zwift. It is not fun for me at all.
