    I have done stained glass and fused glass for decades. You get inspiration from others and others get inspiration from you. I have not nor have other glass artists I have known filed copy rights on their work.

    Many, many people have already & will in the future make their own moulds this way. All it needs is a little imagination. I’d worked it out before ever seeing it done on uTube etc. so, it’s impossible to register it solely. The only difference is which etched reflective window privacy covering takes your fancy!
    Well done

    For every idea, there will be 100 people who had the same idea but did nothing with it. And those same people then get upset because they kick themselves for not doing something with the idea , then take it out on the person that DID do something with it. So do you, don't worry about other people. I used to put blue cool-aid in my Mountaindew when i was a child. I wish i would have patten THAT lol. Live well, be happy.

    Question: What are ur thoughts about putting that cellophane thru a paper shredder?
    I am in love with that coaster 😁
    THANK YOU ❤️

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can add shredded cellophane to a piece. I have a resin playlist.Playlist.. if you go way back. You can find it. You can't use any color, Glitter or shredded cellophane in a holographic piece. It will block the prismatic effect. But you can totally use shredded cellophane in a mold or other project. And I don't think you're asking... but no you can't shred the holographic window film

    So pretty. I love how thin the coaster was. Every mold I find uses way too much resin for a coaster. I loved these with the little clear beads and the chopped up confetti. I have always loved those beads and I would only use clear, now I have to find them. Thank you. ❤️

    Hi there i enjoy watching it its soo pretty .. I made one long time ago but its stuck into the boul .. Ididnt kniw what to do should i just heat it a bit? And thanks for this vedio

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has to be cured enough where it won't stick but where it will still be a bit pliable. You can out the film side in the bowl but then you have the issue of trying to touch or press the stickier side. You can put saran wrap inside bowl or the best is to use a bowl with a very slick inside. Or you turn bowl upside down and lat the side that is the film side over the bowl and let it drape down

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is pretty simple to use... Just caulk out whatever shape and size you want on the textured side face up and you can pour the resin the next day!

  • @michellegulewich9002
    @michellegulewich9002 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you peel off the backing of film and stick thst down to a surface so there are no ripples in the film ?

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no ripples. I just spread the film, paper side down on a flat surface and tape with masking tape to keep it taut. Pipe out my silicone caulk dam, and let it dry overnight. Then a thin layer of resin maybe about a 1/16" thick is really all you need. You can add crystals or crushed glass along edges inside the caulking if you want to give it more character. then you mold it before it sets up really hard.

  • @charley408
    @charley408 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you scrunch up the film before you cut it up, wrinkle it up a lot, the effects are sooooooo much better!

      Ok... thank you!!

    • @charley408
      @charley408 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SandraLett your welcome. I cut a big piece of the film off then cut into more manageable pieces and then I'll cut some down to 3x3 & 4x4 pieces since I make a lot of resin jewelry and small things. I've taken a big 12x12 piece and crinkled it up into a ball then open it back up turn it once to the right and do it again, then I cut it down into tiny strips, and keep cutting those in half till I have small pieces in a bowl, then I'll grab big pinches of it cutting it with scissors, I'll have a lil pile of that in my palm in the big bowl and I'll use the scissors sideways cutting the pile in my hand into glitter size pieces, lol. I have a method to my madness I guess. It is just so pretty! I wish I could send you a video of the effects in my UV resin.

    These are beautiful! Quick question, are any of these still able to project a rainbow on surfaces when the light hits like how it would through a window since the resin is clear? I was thinking of making a light catcher with the first method, but wasn’t sure since it’s transferred if it weakened its ability to do so

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it does.... the only warning would be if you plan on hanging it in a window, you will need to make sure to use a UV resin, otherwise it may amber over time

    Sandra.. thank you for sharing this wonderful process! ❤️ could you clarify for me please.. and possible this is a silly question? you peel of the backing to the holographic film before you shape over the bowl then once this is set you peel off the silicon and the actual holographic film that you poured the resin on?

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes,,, the backing of the original film is just to protect the back from dust and stuff before you would normally attach it to a window. So it does not have a sticky side. I just pull that off to make the resin and film part a little thinner and more flexible when molding. But if you place the resin side against an object, always put Saran Wrap or clear plastic to protect it from sticking to whatever you are laying it over. I have even laid the film side over the form and didn't have to worry about that. But if your resin is tacky, you need to make sure your fingers or whatever else do not stick to it. It will not peel off the front side of the holographic film until it is cured, otherwise it will stick. So after it is formed and cured fairly well... Then you can touch the resin and peel away the film you poured it on. Then you will have the IMPRINT of the window film on that side and it will also show through to the other side as long as you used clear resin (with no color in it)... I am doing one today where I used micas and color, so I will only have one side that is holographic.. so be looking for that video. Its going to be a yellow piece. I hope this helped!

    I tried this film inside of a cake mold. It hardened quicker than I thought (5 hrs) and I guess the resin got under the film and I couldn’t peel it off. A fail, but I’ll try using the caulk and make a mold next time.

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that's the best way. Tape the film down around outside of caulk to a hard surface so it does not move with the warmth of resin

    You need to not worry about what people say to you and if they claim that you stole something from them you should literally put a complaint in about them or taking them to court and sewing them because so many people learn this art from other people on TH-cam and you’re allowed to do whatever you want on TH-cam it’s not copyrighted if it’s free on TH-cam no such thing You shouldn’t remove your videos. They need to prove that you stole it when you didn’t. If it’s there on TH-cam you keep doing whatever you want. You can copy 1 million people that do the same thing on TH-cam putting it out in public. She must’ve seen your video and because you got a lot of views. And unfortunately you shouldn’t care about what these people say and do okay they need to prove it. They need to take you to prove it you can sue them.

    I guess my brain cant wrap around how it turns out holographic ... when you have taken the film off...lol. But its amazing

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The holographic film is textured on the side you pour resin on. It keeps that imprint and therefore, ends up looking holographic just from the imprint. The reverse side is too just because it is clear, even though the top side of resin is perfectly smooth

  • @Flybyenight25
    @Flybyenight25 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been using the holographic film exactly like that for over a year to make bowls, suncatchers and many other things. For someone to claim that technique is pretty entitled.

    Hi Sandra had to write another comment to share something with you I think you will find useful and to give you more ideas to use with your Halo material.Please check out Amazing Resin & wood ect. Artist Nick Zammeti channel VIDEO "Making a Prism Borg Cube".The prism cubes he uses are so expensive Amazon about $12@ piece uses 48 of them.BUT Sherry Moulton recent video tells where she purchased several bags 50-100 pices each of holographic different shapes like flowers etc. for only a few $'s @ Michael's. Not that you would have to do a cube? But might give you more ideas and add even more Halo to your projects! Sorry I had to write his name down I DON'T KNOW HOW to SHARE it with you. I hope this gives you even more idea's since you mentioned you were going to do even more with your Halo material. And as usual you know how much I absolutely love ALL of your art! Right along with everybody else! lol 💗💗💗
