Sportsnet Oilers Analyst Louie DeBrusk joined the guys and talked about his son Jake signing with the Canucks, adding Desharnais from Edmonton and more.
I think DeBrusk will be a real positive addition to the Canucks lineup. He's a good hockey player both physically and mentally. All those years of bumping and grinding it out with the Bruins qualifies him for a serious role with Miller, Boeser, Petterson, Hughes and the other top Canuck players.
@@Canuck.Collector Brock Boeser 40 goals. Nils Hoglander 24 goals. Michael Garland 20 goals. Dakota Joshua 18 goals in 63 games, if he doesn't get injured and miss 18 games he was projected to score 23 in an 82 game season. Pious Suter puts up 14 in 67 games, that's 17 projected over 82 games and Danton Heinen had 17 last season in Boston. Yeah, we don't have any decent wingers.
@@Canuck.Collector Boeser is over the blood clot issue, he's currentlyly training with Derek Forbert this off season, they are good friends. Boeser has been a consistent scorer for the Canucks and put it all together at age 26. You know who else reached their potential at 26? JT Miller. Todd Bertuzzi. Naslund and the Sedins broke out at age 25, sometimes players take their time to mature. Heinen scored 18 goals with Pittsburgh two seasons ago and has had double digit goal scoring seasons previous but does lack consistency. He's with the Canucks for depth scoring. No inconsistency with Sutter. He has scored 14-15 goals every season he's been in the NHL. Hollander score 13 in 56 games his rookie season but has had to do some time in the minors before his career year but he's only 23 years and had to adapt to life in a different continent. The possible drop in production might come from Joshua but he's a projected third line winger whose job is to play physical and kill penalties. If he does that and still gets you 15 goals a season then he's done his job and adds depth scoring to the team.
If I don’t get to say it before you guys go for break . Great year guys thanks for amazing work you do . Ryan, Donnie, dhali you have a wonderful summer . Get out there have some fun . I look forward to a new season next year boys
If Jake can play a bit like Louie (obviously it's not the 80s or 90s anymore) but with more scoring, I'm good with that. Exactly what the top 6 needed.
When i was an elementary student in Edmonton in early 90's, Debrusk came to visit our school. Always fond memories of that. Looking forward to seeing his pov on Canucks this sesson! Hoping for big season from Jake.
This guy comes across as an Oil fan that people like. Gazdic is like the opposite. Hopefully this guy is picked instead of Luke for the variety of Canucks sports interviews by local media
@Bbbbbvggtttttfcdeeww that's good but I've seen a lot of Oilers fans (maybe not you) making excuses and saying the Panthers are the least deserving Stanley Cup champs.
What a Fit Im happy we took Jake over Guentzel . Much better price hes younger tougher and it freed up Cap space to add more pieces. Love our Management and our Future >
We can only hope Jake takes the next step like Brock where maybe he scores 30+ goals playing next to Pety. Canucks are one more top-six player from doing some serious damage. Maybe Lekkerimaki or Hoglander can chip in some offense and play as a top-6 next season...
Another thing about Rick is there's a lot of guys with a familiar resume who are in the Hall of Fame why is Rick not in the Hall of Fame he had a fantastic career he won a cup with Pittsburgh as a player and as assistant coach or how about Trevor Linden
He will call the Canucks games better from now on Edmonton will probably trade Kane They are $2.5 Mill over the cap Still need to sign Holloway and Broberg But i dont see any team taking Kane without asking Edm for a High Pick
I thought Louie was a good interview, knows his stuff, articulate and made good points. Pretty impressive if you ask me, especially how many times he’s been punched in his head during career :) :) :)
They have depth in forward but none on D especially since they dont have Deharnais and one injury to their D and they would need to play Nurse on top pair 😂

DeBrusk will be a continued disappointment. The moment Tocc barks at him, JB is going in a shell. He is a head case who is capable to be a good player but he is very streaky. Van fans will know what they have by the half of the season. Prepare to be underwhelmed.
Jake will be just fine. It's also pretty clear that he has one helluva foundation as his mentor is a grounded, articulate, experienced NHL pro who was a Tocchet guy his whole career. Jake looks like he was made to be a player under Rick Tocchet.
Debrusk has scored 10% more goals per game compared to lindholm we needed a winger and we got him for 2.75 million a season cheaper. He’s younger and plays more physical. It seems like the easy choice. He’s played less minutes/game than lindholm I think he’ll be just fine.
5.5mil on the cap won’t seem that bad in a few years…. It’s not even bad right now for a guy that’ll get you 25 goals or more, and help the PP and PK. I can see him being a 60 point player for the Canucks if Petey can pull it together.

After watching his dad speak. It makes me really happy about this signing. Hope the guy can have a great career in van.
Ya it seems Jake and Vinny have a great attitude. They could quickly become core members of the team.

Luke told the truth!!! Vancouver fans get over it already u got dusted by the oilers
@Bbbbbvggtttttfcdeeww and you got dusted by the Panthers. At the end of the day there's one winner and the rest of us are losers.

I was impressed by Vancouver's performance last year. I'm looking forward to how the coach is going to improve the team this time around.
Why do people think that Edmonton will automatically be in the Stanley Cup Finals again? Lots of teams are one and done.
They won't, i see preds, canucks, avs and maybe vegas have better year
