Animal Crossing is a story about a fisherman meeting a weird cat in the train and then moving to a place called TH-cam to catch fishes all day, clean the entire town, help fill Nook's pockets and end up with the biggest baddest mansion of everyone. He ends up so godly that they'll praise him with a golden statue. Not really.. but that's what I did. This longplay starts off with the usual Nook jobs. After that I did some daily objectives and kept putting the clock one day further until the fishing rod appeared in the store. I feel like it got triggered after a specific purchase, but can't verify this as it's nowhere to be found on the internet. Once the fishing rod is obtained, all you do is fish. I explicitly chose to record in the first half of september as that's the only period where you won't get any bass. Bass are very annoying fish because they're not worth much and they're EVERYWHERE. By playing on 1-10 September, you'll encounter less fishing spots but any fish you'll catch is either a Red Snapper (3k), Barred Knifejaw (5k) or Coelacanth (15k!). So yeah, once the fishing rod is obtained.. all I do is catch fishes for like 6 hours and pay off all house upgrades. There's not much more to this video unfortunately. There were many ways I could go with this game but no matter how I record it, I will never be able to please everyone. Animal Crossing is sort of a sandbox game. You can play it however you like. Some people like to collect every butterfly and insect or all the fossils or the fishes. Some people like to play it fast like me.. some like to make their house as nice as possible... some like to interact with the villagers as much as possible... and ofcourse some people like to do it all. But how do I make a video that shows all of the content whilst keeping an organized video with timecodes? Not all days you'll find a fossil. Not every hour you'll find a new butterfly. Everything in this game is highly RNG. So the answer is.. you don't. Lol When speedrunners play this game they also only go for the house upgrades afaik. So it fits their criteria.
Geez. Yeah that definitely includes all fossils, insects and fishes then. All that stuff is so horribly RNG that not only the video could take excessively long, it would also leave long periods of time in which nothing happens. Even less so than grinding debt money

I remember getting this game as a kid or maybe i rented it? But it was pretty much impossible to play because either i did not have a memory card or the one i had was two small? So i just played the very beginning over and over again until i took it back.
VampireLord1024 my family never owned a gamecube, so we never got to play this game. when i was around 4 or 5 though, i always watched my brother play wild world on his DS, and i was so confused as to how he understood everything and where he was all the time, etc. when i turned 6 i got a DS for my birthday, along with wild world. i was so excited- i could finally play with my brother! i instantly started up my own world and began this new chapter of my life. i played everyday for hours on end, and when my brother and i went to texas with my grandparents we played acww the whole time we were in the car or in our hotel rooms not doing anything. a couple years after city folk came out, we figured out of it’s existence and went to 5 different gamestop’s in our town to find a copy. we ended up getting a used copy of the game (the last one in the store!) and we erased all the data off of it and began our own world. city folk was never really our favorite, so we rarely got on it and i don’t think either of us have played it in about 6-7 years now. when new leaf came out, we were so excited. my brother actually got it as a birthday gift which was right around when it came out. i had to wait nearly a whole year until i could get my own 3DS and copy of new leaf. i played it every day for about a year or so, and then the time i spent on it was slowly shortening. i stopped playing new leaf for a year and a half or so, until now since the trailer for new horizons came out 😂 i’m so hyped for it! i hope my brother and i can get a switch for christmas so we can get the game when it comes out
This was the first game I ever played in my entire life. I was four or five years old when I played this on my GameCube. I had no idea what video games were, what they were made for, or what "GameCube" meant. I didn't understand the most simple question and action of all. "What is your name?" Silly, right? I barely played any of this game and if I played much then my memory isn't very fond of it. All I remember is pressing random buttons and not knowing what the hell I was doing. Funny thing is I still had fun. I had fun in a world I knew nothing about and a creation I didn't know existed and had no knowledge of. Ever since I began my adventure on this game, many more adventures in different games followed. I obviously learned over time and improved my knowledge as I aged as everyone would. I soon became addicted to Mario. That's it. Just Mario. I didn't play any other game for years until I got my Xbox 360. I never touched this game ever again. Unfortunately, I don't own it anymore and I am clueless as to what may have happened to my copy. One day, I will buy it and experience it as a full time gamer boi. I am now eighteen and ready to relive my childhood. Believe me, when Animal Crossing for Switch comes out, I'm buying that beautiful boi.
Reminds me of myself playing wild world and City Folk. Super young, didn’t know what was going on. But still had loads of fun. Even though I was getting yelled by Resseti every time I played lol.
This is it where it all began. I can't tell you how many hours I've poured into this game and while, yeah it is nearly 20 years old (Good God, time flies) it's still a good Animal Crossing game imo. Sure, the menus are clunky, you can't make letters look nice without villagers not knowing what the hell you're talking about and the grumpy and snooty villagers burning you harder than a roast turkey, the game still has its positives like NES games, GBA to GC link cable compatibility and The Island where you could get a second house and tropical fruit. Did I forget to mention that this is the only game in the franchise that doesn't have fake paintings? Overall, despite the game being near 20, it's still a good Animal Crossing game. I will say that I can't wait for New Horizons though.
recently, my new leaf town was deleted after 6 years of playing. My older brother messed it up by transferring the data to another sd card and yeah. It got me through really rough times and I miss it dearly. This video really calmed my nerves and cheered me up alot! I have new horizons and I'm slowly recreating my old town as tribute :) thanks for doing what u do
I feel your pain, my nl town was deleted by my sister almost a year ago, though I only played for less than a year. Im thinking about starting a new town for nl
@@NyanMango i feel that rude villagers would be great for more diverse personalities however i don't want some villagers to be rude for no apparent reason all the time. perhaps some cranky villagers would get mad if you, for example, hitting them with a net or shoving them.
@@grimwave54 New Leaf (3DS) and the original (Gamecube) are seen by most as the best entries in the series. Personally, I'd recommend New Leaf right now, unless New Horizons gets a few more major updates.
dude i was just playing my normal Animal Crossing New leaf when I glance at the screen and see "Strippers and poledancers at Tom Nook's store tonight!" _dying_
This game was so incredible! The fact that it was a remaster of the original Nintendo 64 version, Animal Forest/ Dōbutsu no Mori, makes it even more special. It was definitely ahead of its time, and the Animal Crossing popularity has grown substantially since then, which is well deserved! I've literally bought the GameCube for a couple of games, including Animal Crossing!
It‘s actually the plus version of the remaster of the n64 version. Quite confusing I know lol, but it gets even worse I think there is also an e+ version, which supports the e-reader. E+ is an expansion of the plus version, which is an extended remaster of the n64 version. Yeah xD Edit: whoops I just noticed that it is the e+ version
Pokemewon i heard they have VAs/employees say every letter of the alphabet then use a synthesizer and just combine all the letters for whatever they need to say
@@b.eanimationsandotherstuff1536 for japan it was the 2nd, here in the west it was the first 😃 its just an updated and beter version, with more stuff , villagers etc.
The first Animal Crossing is very different from the sequels, before you're the mayor, before Isabelle, before even towns were all the same screen, everything was divided into Acres, there are so many features that I forgot about that just kind of got lost along the way throughout the series! While I would by no means call this the best Animal Crossing game anymore, it's still a nostalgic treat...if only to remind me of how much the series has changed/improved since the GameCube days.
New games got better but also lost many things along the way. To give an example, animals are just way too nice in New Leaf. The way they act and talk is much more fun in OG Animal Crossing. Hope they fix this in the upcoming game.
These are getting me through the last stretch of time before I can get out of my horrid living situation. Having this playing in the background is so cathartic. Thank you.
Thank you so much for making this!!!! Just hearing all the quirky and cooky noises that the villagers made and the music just fills me with joy in a deeply stressful time of my life as I approach my final semester of college. God bless
Awww!! You got some great villagers for this LP! Apollo and Cookie are great, and Ava holds a special place in my heart as one of the first villagers I got the first time I played New Leaf, as well as being one of three villagers at my first birthday party in my New Leaf town! (If I remember correctly, it was Ava, Flurry, and I think Gwen who were the villagers throwing the party at the time.) Samson and T-Bone were never really my favorite designed characters, and Monique is alright, but there are other Snooty villagers that I like more than her. It's definitely a trip watching an LP of the first Animal Crossing game since I didn't play it all that much. I have vague memories here and there of aspects of the game, as my youngest brother had a GameCube, and he would've been the one playing it most... but I think at the time I was more interested in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. I didn't really get into Animal Crossing until City Folk. It's funny though, for as much as I hear older fans complain about how much they miss the "rude" and "mean" villagers, that they're "too nice" as of New Horizons (though I've seen a few fans claim that New Leaf is when it started)... I don't know, as far as I remember, the animal villagers were really nice going back to City Folk. I'm not sure how it was for Wild World, but I feel the complaint about "The Modern Games" making the animal villagers "too nice" is a bit exaggerated.
We also have to worry about that evil mole called resetti. I feel very sorry for everyone whose dreams are haunted by him. I describe him with the words: good purpose, bad method.
You wont, did u try new leaf version? Juste with it u can pass all the day, the week and month but like all games you need a 2nd game to dibersify for exemple i had anc, monster hunter and smash bros, a really good mix
Believe me. There's points where I don't play for weeks or even months but if set myself goals, I play longer. Idk if this would work for you but I thought I'd give you a tip. BTW, The later entries have way more stuff to do but you're free to try out the original on GameCube.
I love the series so much, especially the gamecube version! Thank you for doing this video ❤❤ gonna keep watching this before bed cause watching AC gameplay is weirdly relaxing to me xD
Ah, memories. I got a Hand-Me-Down GameCube in 2008/2009. My older brother let me borrow his copy of Animal Crossing so I could play with my own memory card. I loved it. I don’t recall much, but I really had fun in the world of animal crossing. Years later, I got New Leaf for my 3DS. I’m still playing as I won’t be able to get New Horizons until my birthday in June.
Was just a little kid back in these times. My older brother and I used to play this all the time together - Bob and Rob of Mo Town lol. I would run around doing whatever I wanted, I liked talking to some of the characters that were my favorite and running errands. My brother was always fishing though lol. Love and miss you Gamecube days. Thanks for the nostalgic upload.
I Love This Channel Because I Can Watch Longplays Of All The Games I Grew Up Playing. Good Memories & Helps Me Relax On Days Off. Thank You For Making This Channel 💜
Im literally sitting here at 1am.. crying... because i just realized that my big brother gifted me this for christmas one year... and i played it for a long time but i forgot about it because i was so young... and i couldnt remember what games of animal crossing i played... until now.. wow..
I used to love this game! I really loved the autonomy of it..especially writing letters..I used to talk trash about some ppl in their letters and they would get so mad at me 😂
Omg the flowers are so pretty 💖 and I loved the music in this game, also the dialogue is gold 😂😂 I also miss those little balls you could kick around town
My school had a Game Room in 5th Grade, me and my friend would go to the game room for 15 tickets and we would go to the GameCube and always play animal crossing. Love that memory.
To see someone play my all time favorite childhood game for 7+ hours warms my heart. I couldn’t find anyone playing this masterpiece. Edit: this game also had cheat codes. If you typed a certain code you’d get 30k bells😂 good old cheat codes this was definitely very early 2000s
I rented this game back when I was a child, and it was quite the unique experience. I wish I could say I enjoyed all of the time I had with the game, but unfortunately I didn't have a memory card at the time, and so I had to restart every time I played. Aside from that, I had a cousin who got upset at the fact that this was the game I chose to rent, that he would've chosen a better game, blah blah. I did like the game, but I wish I could've enjoyed it more. It did lead me to get Wild World years later, though, which is one of my favorite games that helped me during a lot of rough patches I went through when I was entering adulthood.
That's basically the only way to complete the game in reasonable time. Watching a 40 hour longplay of somebody doing the daily tasks such as getting fossils, catching some butterflies and doing villager tasks is even more boring.
@@longplayarchive There's all sorts of passwords you can shove down Nook's throat for all sorts of nice things (The password system was used for trading items with others via nook but there's these "universal" codes that work for everyone and one of them is 30,000 bells, you can get most of the NES games that way too.
Woah woah what the heck, I've played and watched animal crossing so many times before now but I didn't realize that when they speak they aren't just saying gibberish???? I had no clue they were actually saying the words with an effect over it. That blew my mind
I could never sit down and play this game for 7 hours straight but it's nice to know that someone on the internet already did that for me so I don't have to
Thank you for your gameplay! It’s so peaceful and nostalgic. I also cannot believe you have COOKIE? I Have restarted my town over and over just to get her or Goldie or daisy :( I love the dog villagers lol. I seem to never score them!! only when I was a child.
Played the original when I was just a kid. Playing New Horizons and New Leaf as an adult always makes me remember my times playing this one. This was a fun blast of nostalgia.
LongplayArchive Thanks! I’d use my own footage, if I had any. I’ve really only played City Folk and New Leaf, but I wanna make a kind of montage going through all the games in chronological order.
Aww the fun and nostalgias remember playing this and when I first bought it for my GameCube oh the memories thx for uploading I just love animal crossing one of the best gamecubes games ever!
Due to a trauma I can never play this game again. The game got stuck on an infinite saving loop when I tried to quit one day and I couldn’t stop it it unless I forced a shut down. When I did this the memory card I used got corrupted and couldn’t be used anymore.

Did I forget to mention that this is the only game in the franchise that doesn't have fake paintings? Overall, despite the game being near 20, it's still a good Animal Crossing game. I will say that I can't wait for New Horizons though.
umm actually this is the fourth game
Arguably the best soundtrack in the AC series. One for every hour that's not a similar tune
YES YES YES YES!!!!!!
I love love it
Definitely
still uses the main theme
"TH-cam is one of my favorite vacation spots" . And thus I can confirm that my life is one big holiday.
I named my town hell “I know the guy who runs the shop in hell” is the best line ever
recently, my new leaf town was deleted after 6 years of playing.
Im thinking about starting a new town for nl
what's your dream code? I'd love to see your island!
he probably doesnt have one@@cauliflowerjones
New leaf was very charming but it doesn’t compare to the the weird look/feel of this game as well as the villager interactions imo :/
New Horizons is looking better in that department, though. Still no overly rude villagers though.
@@NyanMango disagree, this game has a unique charm.
@@NyanMango i feel that rude villagers would be great for more diverse personalities however i don't want some villagers to be rude for no apparent reason all the time. perhaps some cranky villagers would get mad if you, for example, hitting them with a net or shoving them.
Nyanadventurer the second which animal crossing is the best and for what system ? I'm tryna get into it
@@grimwave54 New Leaf (3DS) and the original (Gamecube) are seen by most as the best entries in the series. Personally, I'd recommend New Leaf right now, unless New Horizons gets a few more major updates.
dude i was just playing my normal Animal Crossing New leaf when I glance at the screen and see "Strippers and poledancers at Tom Nook's store tonight!" _dying_

Shiny Atom your late
ULFRIC STORMCLOAK how ironic, you were too
My late mother loved this game so much. Sadly she died of cancer in 2019, but seeing this reminded me of her.
I love how cheeky all of the dialogue is in this game. Cracks me up lol.
Quite confusing I know lol, but it gets even worse
I think there is also an e+ version, which supports the e-reader. E+ is an expansion of the plus version, which is an extended remaster of the n64 version.
Yeah xD
Edit: whoops I just noticed that it is the e+ version
actually its a remaster of gamecube
unless hes lying which he could but theres a book in the house so this is a modded version
In this animal crossing when they speak I can actually hear that they’re almost saying the words.
JustNickXD it sounds British 😂
It’s called animalease (I think that’s how you spell it) It is literally a sped up version of what they’re saying.
Pokemewon i heard they have VAs/employees say every letter of the alphabet then use a synthesizer and just combine all the letters for whatever they need to say
Put it on 0.25x speed and you can actually make out some of it
I honestly forgot how mean the villagers were in this game lmao
Oh my god yes, I stopped playing it when I was little because I didn’t like being bullied by my villagers

The Real Sean W. Stewart But it is the best animal crossing
@@catherinetramell69 I agree!
New games got better but also lost many things along the way. To give an example, animals are just way too nice in New Leaf. The way they act and talk is much more fun in OG Animal Crossing. Hope they fix this in the upcoming game.
which is the best AC game to you?
the music, acre side scrolling and nes games made this the best
Just over a year after 9/11, the world was made good again. I remember it well. This was the first game I ever got for my GameCube.
Mine was Luigi's Mansion since I got it on launch.
The music just gives me the best feeling
Played it in grade school use to write stories about the characters my teacher loved it. K.K. is my favorite. Sad I haven't played the others yet.
These are getting me through the last stretch of time before I can get out of my horrid living situation. Having this playing in the background is so cathartic. Thank you.
i was watching this to listen to when i was trying to fall asleep. so soothing. best game ever and i miss playing this with my cousin.
This is wonderful to put on in the background on my second monitor. Just watching and hearing this game is therapy
i died when nook was showing u homes and u first went into the house and u were like "...... nah bye"
The countless hours picking weeds ahhh I miss my childhood
I had honestly missed playimg that game. It was really an innovation at the time.
especily over the previos 3 games
Hype for AC Switch! Great vid, all that keep it up stuff! Never seen a full play through or long play of the GameCube AC yet, so thanks for that!
Thank you so much for making this!!!! Just hearing all the quirky and cooky noises that the villagers made and the music just fills me with joy in a deeply stressful time of my life as I approach my final semester of college. God bless
I’ve just started playing New Horizons and it’s really fun honestly and relaxing
sukcer zucker puxer
I always wanted to play Animal Crossing, looking like that seems to be so cute, simple and fun .. But I'm afraid to get tired of the game and stop ...
No, you cant. This game concept is beautiful. It's a forever game
Yeah I had two memory cards for this game lol
Believe me. There's points where I don't play for weeks or even months but if set myself goals, I play longer. Idk if this would work for you but I thought I'd give you a tip.
BTW, The later entries have way more stuff to do but you're free to try out the original on GameCube.
No one is going to talk about the fact that the town is named TH-cam
The player chooses the name
I love the series so much, especially the gamecube version! Thank you for doing this video ❤❤ gonna keep watching this before bed cause watching AC gameplay is weirdly relaxing to me xD
i mean most people prefer the gamecube ones than the n 64 or chinese ones
Gyroids at your house would be cool in the newer games tbh

30k bells is kinda nothing ig but also since you have the imported version it had cards to scan
7 hours of fishing 😴

“Strippers and pole dancers at Tom Nook’s store” I’m dying inside
I used to love collecting pet fish for the museum and for my house. Shared a town with my brother.
Bro all you did was fish.
That's basically the only way to complete the game in reasonable time. Watching a 40 hour longplay of somebody doing the daily tasks such as getting fossils, catching some butterflies and doing villager tasks is even more boring.
LongplayArchive either that or just using the 30,000 bells code 3x a day but that’s no fun
Hailey And Nathan whats that?
Hailey And Nathan huh? :O didnt even know of this
@@longplayarchive There's all sorts of passwords you can shove down Nook's throat for all sorts of nice things (The password system was used for trading items with others via nook but there's these "universal" codes that work for everyone and one of them is 30,000 bells, you can get most of the NES games that way too.
Holy fuck I've already watched half of this
Woah woah what the heck, I've played and watched animal crossing so many times before now but I didn't realize that when they speak they aren't just saying gibberish???? I had no clue they were actually saying the words with an effect over it. That blew my mind
Ace Wow I didn’t know that either and I can hear it now. Can’t believe this game technically has voice acting.
I feel sorry for abandoning my town for 1-5 months oof
I could never sit down and play this game for 7 hours straight but it's nice to know that someone on the internet already did that for me so I don't have to

Due to a trauma I can never play this game again.

When I did this the memory card I used got corrupted and couldn’t be used anymore.
