I’m very skeptical about such a gigantic hydraulic crane. In my opinion the Chinese manufacturers are moving too fast concerning size of units. I’m going to be very interested to see how this XCA 4000 will perform, short term and long term. Will any units be sold outside of China? I really find it hard to believe that a foreign company would take the risk of such a huge investment. Another question would be practicality. Will a crane as massive as the XCA 4000 be practical to use on various industrial projects? My thinking is that a contractor could be better served by TWO 2,000 ton capacity cranes. This would offer better flexibility as well as mobility. In real world applications the 2,000 ton capacity units would work in tandem to perform any super heavy lifts. To conclude I’ll just say that while this crane is extremely impressive looking, I’m not yet convinced it will be a success internationally. We have to wait to see if the overall quality, reliability, etc is on par with crane manufacturers such as Liebherr and Manitowoc.

@@GehtDiNixAn The XCA4000 may be excellent in all aspects of performance. However it must prove its capabilities in the real world. This process will take at least several years. The world crane & heavy lift industries will need to see how the giant crane performs. What will the reliability of the crane be after 3-5 years of frequent usage? As I originally mentioned in my first comment, this machine would be a massive investment for any company. I would be very surprised to see any non-Chinese company purchasing the XCA4000. In my opinion the only way a foreign company would take the risk, would be if XCMG offered a comprehensive, long term warranty attached to the sale. The reason I mentioned the European manufacturer Liebherr, is because they have a long track record of producing high quality, high capacity cranes. The company has established itself as a leading manufacturer worldwide. There is a very high level of confidence, when a company or contractor purchases a multi million dollar Liebherr heavy lift crane. This is because their machines have been field proven. Only time will tell if the XCA4000 will be successful in the market.

Unreal, until recently I hadn't realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's a relief! Although what he previously suggested was pretty good, it was a real pain to follow... I just go'ogled the latest by Mario Volpstein, it's so much simpler and potent now!
