  • The 360 shuvit is one of those tricks that I didn't like for a long time until I really got it figured out. I felt like it was just a good way to slice my foot on a fin, but after getting comfortable spinning the board confidently it is a go to in lighter winder and is a really smooth feeling trick when stuck with just a little more height off the water. I highly recommend learning in lighter wind or even a heavier board in stronger wind can help keep control and avoid having the board blown off sideways or flip upside-down on you.
New video's will launch every Tuesday at 9am!

Awesome video Evan! Thanks for the helpful tips.. I agree these are definitely trickier in stronger winds with the wind sometime taking the board. Especially like the tip about forward hand pressure and pushing the tail back and up with some contact with front foot. You make these look effortless!

Thanks! Glad to hear that tip helps, that is my only goal, if I can get out 1 solid tip to someone I'm happy!

Cool video. I learned how to do them accidentally by trying backside 180’s. It’s pretty much the same method but I just rotate my body more fling the board 180 and then rotate my body back. Also to prevent fin cuts I always lightly sand the sharp edges of my fins.

Yup, got to watch out for the fins if the board flips on you for sure!

thanks. I never managed to keep that front foot connected to the board so I do it differently but has you say, there are many ways to do the 3.6 shuvit. I have the feeling I edge more than you do to break my speed. Anyway, the way you do it is much more steeze and I have to keep working on it. Especially if I wanna catch more height. Usually, if i go higher, I easily loose control of the board (backside air + shovit in a wave for instance) and I reckon I should work on that front foot thing to get a better control of the board. Thanks again for those videos. Pretty cool to have some videos to guide the progression. cheers !

Thanks! Yes I feel like keeping that front foot on the board helps with control a lot and gives me more or a choice on how high or low I want to go

thanks for the videos Evan!! (much better than the duotone ones!! :)
in this trick my board doesn't fly away but instead comes to my front hand like in a tick-tack. not sure how to make it rotate around the front foot.
I see you not only slice the back foot but you also compensate with the front one in the other direction (but you don't mention that I think :P )

Hi Even, Thanks for the great video series...i am a beginner but the videos are inspiring to get even more into strapless fresstyle. However, at the moment i am strugling with the "Board Off Transition"..i get into the air, can grab the board, but then somehow i am not able to change direction and place the board under the feet again...maybe you can do a video on that......Thx
