I only just recently found your channel and I'm loving it! So hilarious! I also appreciate the commentary that you have on serious subjects; very knowledgeable and thought provoking. 👍
Specifically because the author kept pitching manga ideas to Shonen Jump, and they were all shot down. So then the editor sent him to Shoujo Boot Camp and made him read 100 shoujo manga before he was allowed to pitch another idea.
@@chaircheck2424 Why Shoujo Boot Camp? Was all his pitches love stories but that terrible of characters? Sure it was effective; just seems oddly specific for a solution.
@@kodytiffany5686 essentially Tatsu-sensei, mangaka of “Dandadan” is passionate to make manga before but he himself not gifted or anything just your usual mangaka who have good drawing skills and will to learn the arts, for the record Dandadan released when he was in late 30s I believe, that is so much late compare to his contemporary fellow mangaka out there. He did and thus we got Dandadan.
Honestly if there was another manga about making manga like Bakuman I could totally see this as a training arc lol. This editor 100 shoujo mangas guy, Shihei Lin, iirc also gave Yukinobu Tatsu the crucial advice of essentially "just wing it" because as previous repliers have mentioned all his previous submissions to jump were getting shot down he was starting to overthink to the point of getting writer's block, and Lin told Tatsu to just write, and they just pitched the most random ideas back and forth at each other like "what if he we made this about his ball?" or "what if I put in an 80's commercial jingle?" and it just became Dandadan. If it feels random af reading, its because it was literally just Tatsu and Lin's intrusive thoughts getting jotted into paper as soon as it got conceived.
Ed analysis of the opening is what I was looking for the most when I heard he would do Dandadan. Especially color psychology analysis. And I'm served a 5-star meal already 8:42
Oh, dear, oh lordie...I didn't know you were reacting to this. I'm looking forward to your reaction to a certain episode...just don't let the weirdness deter, this show is actually really good...
@AnaatthiGozo that too, but mostly Ed's input regarding the whole thing. I've seen some reactors cry like babies (understandable), and some relate due to similar or close to similar trauma, but I find it curious how ed would, for lack of a better word, dissect it...
@@Shiroyasha14 I was actually surprised how well AliciaxLife took this episode when reacting (ok like she was also weirded out by it, but I'd say half the reactors I saw had stronger reactions than she did with "the scene") given she was a victim of SA in the past as well.
@NotSomeJustinWithoutAMoustache yeah, I can see that being a thing. Dandadan is just one of those shows, rather, those anime where you either really love it, or you absolutely despise it, and there is no in-between...or at least, for most people.
@@Shiroyasha14 I'm in between, I think it's fun, but I wouldn't say I love it. One episode was absolutely amazing though, and I think you know which one
Damn, Ed came out cooking with one of those Wok Hei rocket engine stoves today, barely 8 minutes into the video and he's already speedran some character analysis and got one of the show's core genres figured.
Its why I love psyculturist's "reaction videos" he really breaks down the topic at hand. Definitely one of the reactors who put the most transformative effort on the content they're reacting to, and I respect him so much for that.
I'm gonna be real with you after watching through the whole reaction I actually think he discussed less than usual this episode, I was expecting more analyses lol.
The true meaning behind the title "Dandadan" has not yet been explained. So if Ed predicts whatever it is he'll be the king of the internet. The wizard king.
Look, I'm not gonna say anything about the cat. But I WILL say that the cat is a "hear me out" from me. Also since it's not directly related to the plot, I'll mention that the author has *read 100+ shoujo manga* for research.
On a weird note, you're in Cali and I saw this article about forgotten tickets twice today. Hit up any friends in Encino and tell em to look for any lottery tickets from November of last year.
Got a question. Kinda late for the streamed reactions I'm about to mention, but where are the vods for the last 2 eps and the movie for evangelion? I've been watching the vods in your twitch collections and they're not there.
Again in the Shonen Jump Chapter; The Aliens say "Banna Organs" Which for females is less obvious as I do not know the shapes of all the parts. But clearly the sex organs.
I'm so torn. DDD is a phenomenal anime worthy of everyone's attention, but I'm also really sad that it won the poll with Vinland Saga s2 and Cyberpunk being perfect for a psyculturist deep dive analysis videos.

This is the type of show that you sound batshit insane trying to describe the plot to someone skeptical of anime.
The way Momo's purple background in the opening matches Ed's lighting is just satisfying
I didn't know until the end of stream that it matched 😂😂
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SERIES HAS BEGIN❤❤

Roughly 100 Rom Coms went into the Author and editors crafting of the relationships is what I had heard.

Colors can mean multiple different things within the same culture depending on context, too.
Colors also resembles emotion if I'm not mistaken

Hi Ed! Is there any source to find that color wheel you use? It'd be great for character creation
Weird/funny, suspension, romance?, warm, action, sadness.
