another cool thing about "sizzling coins" is that you may tape them on the bottom side of your cymbal with one piece of scotch. in this case the coin must touch the surface of the cymbal slightly without sticking to it to get an appliccable sizle. this idea came from Stephen Taylor

Great video, if only I found this when I was making my own sizzler last August/September. And had ran into some problems, which include "a holder of ball chains". So I actually used a "modified" kitchen sink rubbish catcher, both a flat type and a shallow bowl variant. The good side to it was that I could put multiple sizzlers, or use half of the long ball chain or both for different effects. The down side, the bell of the cymbal is blocked by the holder. But funnily enough, I found out it became another form of percussion by itself. Thought you might give some feedback on improving on that idea. Probably will post a video or two when I have the time in future about the innovative idea. I have only photographs of it.

YukiSoba Cool man! Thats the beauty of this kind of stuff, you set out trying to do one thing and come up with something new! But yeah, I would love to see a video or picture of the one you made.

I love your ride cymbal, what kind is it?

    • @rdavidr

Michael Hatfield II 20" Meinl Byzance dark ride. It would be the perfect cymbal if it was a little thinner, but I still love the thing!

AlterBridge11 its a Peruvian seed pod foot rattle (lol). I got it from Steve Weiss, but they actually dont sell it anymore. Meinl makes one similar, its just kinda pricey.

For an 18" Cymbal, l place, 8, Scotch-Taped, Screws, About an inch, Away, From the Outer-Edge of the Cymbal. Each screw should be, Approximately, 1 Hand-Length, Away, From each other. It sounds Really-Nice! :D ...lt's an Old lndian-Trick! ;)

Pls make another video trying out crazy cymbal sizzler shit. Try necklaces. All sorts of chains. Marbles. Hamster pellets. Gravel. The ends of old guitar strings. Hairclips. Needles on yarn. Anal beads. Whatever!
