Thanks. Your drawing process (what is done first, how and what to copy, rotate, etc.) makes it very simple. I have done this, including the layout, but not nearly as easily as you have just demonstrated. Thanks. Always good to learn a better, simpler, easier way.
Wow, this is really helpful. Haven't used SketchUp much yet, and I'm basically a woodworking infant - accumulating a few inexpensive tools (circular saw and other small items) until I can afford some actual shop tools. It's great to see what is possible with SketchUp and how you can plan so you know exactly how much lumber you need, and how to use it efficiently.

Jay, I have used SU for years but, I learn a lot every time you present a new drawing. I have two monitors. After watching your presentation completely through I download the You Tube video and play it on one monitor while following along and drawing on the other. It really helps cement in place in my aging brain the pointers you offer. I Like it! Keep 'em coming. They are my favorites of all the woodworking videos.

Good explanation of why the table needs to be adjusted with the clamps you have, these types of things are big time savers when you get to the point to the glue up and it is impossible and you have to rework your design. These little tips are good to remember, thanks

Hey Jay, you can make the xray part faster by selecting the object and rightclicking it and choosing Intersect Faces > with model. It makes all the edges/faces that intersect make lines on them. Very useful

Another excellent SketchUp video Jay. I use the same keyboard shortcuts plus one other for toggling 'hide rest of model'. this is great because it works regardless of what is selected at the time.
Jay, just a quick note on clamping - with appropriate corner blocks as protectors (cut from a 2x4), I find that a regular ratcheting tie-down strap(s) from the back of your pickup makes an awesome clamp for large items such as this :)
