Every Ghanaian you speak to wants stricter punishment attached to the law. Our future President Sam George should start working on an amendment to introduce harsher punishment for repeat offenders and same sex assaults on students and minors.

What the guy said about people who got introduced from SHS is true but those people who influenced them watched those things from the Internet or movies on TV. Again this isn't learned from an African home because we have strong moral standards both learned and practiced at school and at home. Definitely, the influence is from what we watch on TV from the western world. If TV stations were censored at that time things wouldn't have gone wrong. And again, the government isn't going to babysit ot pamper anyone being found guilty, a law is a law. If found guilty, you'll be jailed. It's better to start receiving counselling now before it's too late. The government isn't a counsellor and parents are suppose to guide their children to do the right thing before its too late.

The last guy made sense. But he failed to see the necessity of creating a societal framework within which the things he is advocating for would be a reality. The punitive measures proposed by the bill are meant to preserve critical social values like the sanctity of family. From that angle, the bill makes a lot of sense.
Also, nothing about the bill prevents us from taking the steps he recommended to deal with the problem at the root. We can put the bill in place and also deal with these issues at the root.
What I don't understand about Ghana and many other African countries is that they will rally the people around issues that basically have NOTHING to do with their lives and ignore the COMMON SENSE issues. How about parliament passing laws to have better roads in five years. how about Parliament passing a law to have a better electrical grid. How about parliament passing a law to increase funding to improve education and teachers pay. how about parliament passing a law to pass MANDATORY job creation in the next five years. How about parliament passing a law that every single child will be WELL educated by the next 10 years. Africa, this is call a WEDGE issue. Laws of this sort is done to increase favor and maintain positions. The church, politicians, and outside forces uses issues such as this to keep people attention focused on the UNIMPORTANT so you ignore the important. Come on....WAKE UP!!!!!

In this world when it comes to sex some other people like the opposite whilst others too like to engage in same sex and Ghanaians should just understand that. Some of the same people that would come out condemning homosexuality are the same ones who do these evil acts. Including some pastors, chiefs, Queen mothers, and governments, have had sexual contact with the same sex at some point in their lives. Some of our grand mothers/fathers have experienced homosexuality at some point in their lives but because of fear, traditional rules, religion, and fear of maybe losing their lives over it they've changed their ways. So does it really matter of one does it in secret or expose it in public? It's all the same if you would have asked me. The fact that we are all adults and should live our lives how we choose it shouldn't be anyone's business it's our children we need to protect and raise them right. I love women sexually but i shouldn't be the one to tell other adults what to do/what not to do, because if Ghana is part of the United Nations then she must realize that this anti Gay/Lesbian rights go against both human rights(the right to choose as a person/human being) and the rule of United Nations. Our primary focus should be on improving better life for our people and peace keeping, preventing war and conflicts that destroy innocent lives.
