I also have a 2007 and have been randomly experiencing the "ABS and ESP Inoperative" error popping up while driving. Other than that I have no other error messages showing up. When it happens the car cuts all power, but instantly comes back to life and carries on normally. It's driving me crazy. I'll have to take a look at the module and it's connector. You did an amazing job locating the issue. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice work! I just had a 2011 s550 towed in. No crank no start. Multiple bus strips corroded. Christmas tree also. Ordered the bus strips and will work from there
I have a 2012 s550 has a bunch of codes for short to positive. Trying to figure it out has been a nightmare. Fuel rail sensor fuel temp provavl boost preasure sensor. You wouldn't happen to know which bus would be linked to those would ya?
tough to say without seeing. Study the diagram and look for common denominators, find the power source, likely drawing on the battery also. Try an infrared camera to isolate hot spots!!
Thank you! I haven’t completed it yet. Module on order. $1050 plus tax , est around $2k total. These kind of repairs are tough to price, I try and be very fair with my clients, this one’s a great one. I’m leaning between 6-8 hrs labor, labor rate of $130 an hour. If I can program the module without having to use the dealer, I won’t add for that. Where I’ll make my money is on the next one. I’ve learned a lot on this one, I’ll eat some of my time on this one and make up for it on the next one!
Great job sir!
Thanks for watching

Nice explanation 👌. How much did you end up charging for this job?
