A Toy Photographer Creates a Custom Model Paint Rack

  • I have run out of places to store my model paints. Off the shelf racks would not fit in my shop so I spent the last 3 weeks 3D printing my own custom rack! I, of course, captured the whole process in this video.
    This rack fits 140 Army Painter or Vallejo style paint bottles, and 21 Citadel style ones. This is going to be a massive improvement to my diorama and miniature painting workflow.

    Oooh-hoo!!! Colors!!! For so long I was affraid of playing too much with color... I am over that by now. I hace fun mixing and discovering. Congratulations Dave!!

      Thanks mate. Playing with colours intimidated me as well, but over time I got used to the idea.

    cool, but next time, add big holes in the wall of the tubes... it makes it more lightweight, and you can save a lot of filament... almost the half!

    Great video. Great idea. Question: will your tubes handle the craft paint bottles? If they do I'm going to download your plans and build a rack for all the paints for fishing lure painting.

      The won't fit directly. They might if you scale them up to the right size.

    Sir i subsribed , im making my hooby desk holder from cardboards now and you giving me some ideas!! im into 1/:24 cars but i will love to see techiques on painting miniatures!
