Its funny you said that, because I felt the same way when I watched this video. I guess seeing videos of people that you don't know who go about their lives in the same way the you do just strikes a chord deep within. I stopped over in Ayr in 2005 when I was deploying to Kuwait with the USAF and enjoyed the area. I came across this video when I looked up Ayr on youtube. It kind of puts things in a different perspective when you're a visitor who passes through and you see a family that has lived here happily go about their lives.
The reason you feel so wistful is because deep inside you know things were SO much better then, and ordinary people lived much more fulfilling lives. Even though you didn't live then, you know this. The real pandemic is the damned smartphone.
A VERY SPECIAL PLACE FOR ME . MY FAMILY ALWAYS WENT THERE SUNDAY RUN TO AYR FROM DARVEL HAD OUR HIGH TEA AT THE COUNTY HOTEL . THEN WE HAD OUR CARAVAN AT CROY BEACH AND WERE ALWAYS IN AYR EVEN TODAY I STILL LOVE THIS PLACE
I lived in the same street for 17 years from 1984to 2001. Great place my name is David Gibbs lived at number 9 With my partner Margaret and son David and daughter Rachel.. very happy days.
I drive a private hire taxi and it`s weird how a lot of people automatically go in the back seat , at 00:15 I had a flashback of this as 4 of them got in the back😆
Part of me wishes life was still like this
This made me feel rather emotional and wistful for people I don't know, and for a time long before I was born. Beautiful.

1966 for me was in NY State in the U.S., but this was as evocative for me as everyone has said.
And wonderful music, too.
Made me cry when I saw this, my old house in John Street long since demolished. Love the music so melancholy. Lovely film of days gone by x
I remember when I was five my family stayed at Mrs McKinley's boarding house just up the road in July 1966. The street hasn't changed that much 😀
My aunty lived next door in eglington terrace.St Margarets chapel ,I went every sunday for years. Thanks I almost forgot how it was then.

Things have changed for worse, on that no one can reasonably disagree. No wonder we get so wistful at these kinds of videos.
I disagree, and are you a Nazi ?
