Love it pare! Much appreciate the insightful comment, it always motivates me to explore other parts of the culture I visit! Definitely need to revisit the beautiful island of Siqijour…it’s one of my favourites ❤️🇵🇭🙏
Hey bimz! Awesome man, really appreciate your kind words…I love making these vlog and want to make it full time so I can make even better ones in future to entertain you 😁❤️
Conor, you underwent a healing/cleansing session with a local traditional healer called a mananambal in the Cebuano language. She is different from a witch or a sorcerer who practices dark magic and sorcery. Quite a interesting experience though, and a good video. How did you feel after the session? 😊
Hey Tony! Ahhh I see, yeah it was a really interesting experience and one I won’t forget! Maybe next time I’ll look more for the sorcerer experience 🧙! I felt kinda relaxed I’d say the most 😅 like after a good massage! Glad you enjoyed the video Tony 😁🇵🇭❤️
Yes..its not allowed to shower after cause there is a chance you will have a sort of body spasm since your pores are open after having the healing and chances cold air can enter the body..its not good..
There are lot of mysticism in Siquijor that’s probably worth delving into: the dancing paper dolls of the witch doctors, the haunted convent, the Black Mary holding a skull and inverted cross in a there, the ghost ship appearing at sea and disappearing at night, and others. One thing that is much less in Siquijor is crime. Beyond the local police, residents believe on the protection of spirit elements guarding the island and the locals.
My grandmother used to rub all kinds of oils that smell strongly of either herbs or chemicals. Whatever she did, it eased whatever I was going thru. I had a lot of stomach problems as a child. She used to put me to sleep. Sometimes it was painful but then it put me to sleep at the end.
Nice kuya! It definitely something that interests me as it’s very different to how things are done in the west. Very fun and insightful day 🙏 Salamat po for watching! ❤️🇵🇭
I was curious when you said she's a witch but it turns out she is just a what we called "Manghihilot" or in english Massage Therapist (but not quite) or simply a massager. So we basically go to manghihilot when we don't feel good or have colds and muscle pain/sprains. But if someone has serious medical condition, never ever go to manghihilot It will just make your condition worse.
Hey pare 👋! Ahhh yes a few people have said this now…next time I will see if I can find an actual witch 🧙. Appreciate the info too man, makes sense why she told me not to wash 😅
❤ It's sort of like having a physical and mental recalibration, which was a good thing as you've been working nonstop just so we can watch something worthwhile ❤ There's no harm in believing in such practices as the universe, or should I also say other dimensions, is way too big to be occupied by humans alone. The planet has a way of healing itself, and inexplicably this healing phenomenon or positive energy can be harnessed through its natural resources such as plants, herbs, trees and even special "mystic" places. Siquijor's reputation definitely precedes itself - a place of wonder, superstitious practices and secrets that are perhaps much older than that Balete tree 🌿🦉🐍🥥🌏⛰️🙏🏻
What an insightful and well thought it message! Yeah, this more mystical and eastern way of healing and the general secretive side of Siqijour definitely added to the islands unique feel. The idea of Mother Nature and plants providing true healing does feel more how things should be done in the world, rather than manufactured products 🙏❤️
One of the culture of Philippines, myth, sorcerer magics and arts, includes siquijor, naga in Cebu, bantayan ana others islands exist, and if you heard about aswang or witch and witches siquijor is numbers one, dingle in Iloilo, dumangas also in Iloilo and other islands here in Philippines,
🤣 the mystical creatures and demons and fairies are actually still in shock with all the visitors... stories havebeen passed down for generations...but the last decades its mostly magical potions and healers and voodoo. the demons and fairies hop on to your soul and rides with you where ever you go depending on which ones you attract. if you believe in them...deeply... they will come.
siquijor is a good place for you...there are dwendies (elfs)....usually near tree trunks....some are nasty and some are kind... they prefer short people like hobbits and kids. people like the sunsets and sunrise...but the moon is whats magical...when i was young i always thought the moon was following me where ever i go....full moon in siquijor is the best....with fire flies in the background
The myth of Siquijor tells it all. An old legend tells how Siquijor arose from the depth of the ocean during a great earthquake that shook the whole Visayas. Whilst lightning pierced the sky and the storm raged over the seas Siquijor emerged out of the waves.
Oh Connor, what have you got yourself into this time? 😂 Getting nibbled by fishes and getting manhandled by a ‘healer’ is the last thing I was expecting to see from your channel today. 😂
I think you’re gonna grow big with the kind of energy you emanate. Keep it up! Glad to be one of your early subscribers.
Hey 👋, I appreciate it a lot your support means a lot! Let’s do this! Big things coming 💪❤️🇵🇭
