- Te Mata Peak stands 399 meters tall and is located south of Hastings in the Te Mata Hills, within the picturesque Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand.
From the summit of Te Mata Peak, you'll be treated to breathtaking 360° views of Hawke’s Bay and the sprawling Heretaunga Plains, making it a must-visit spot for nature lovers.
Around 2 million years ago, tectonic movements caused the sea floor to tilt and shift, forming the striking landform that we now recognize as Te Mata Peak.
