There was an update a while back that allows PS5 to be controlled by hdmi signal. Turn your tv on, ps5 turns on. This was causing my hdmi input to drop intermittently. Turned the setting off and no more problems. Throwing this out there to whoever might need it before disassembling your console.
What is that setting under?

My launch PS5 has been having some random HDMI disconnects in the past month that seem to get worse and worse - it helps when I have pressure applied to the HDMI cable holding it very firmly into the PS5 like it's a loose connection. Not sure if I'll eventually need the port replaced, or if I can pry up the tabs of the port a bit more for a better connection, or it could even be something slightly loose internally.

My son tripped over the charger in front which made my ps5 start to fall. I caught it in mid fall probably 4 inches from the ground. And the hdmi cord didn't even come out but the game won't display on my TV. Ik it's the hdmi port cause it's gotta to a point where I don't even use my TV remote when I come home. I grab my ps5 controller hit the button in the middle and the tv automatically goes to whatever input I have the ps5 in. The tv is telling where I placed the hdmi core at but the ps5 isn't displaying anymore on my tv. This happen yesterday been almost 24hours I'm going crazy. Help someone

Can I ask why you used a heat gun over a hot air station for removal? I removed one of these ports and it took forever at 480 degrees with low melt solder applied but I'm pretty sure my nozzle was to small. Ordered some larger ones. Nice work.
Take the nozzle off and use it straight
I have a challenge for u! So i use astro A40 headset with the astro adapter piece for the optical cord and when plugged in i get no signal to my monitor but when i remove the astro adapter it works fine i get signal, is it the adapter itself thats the problem or something else

Hopefully you see this comment. I've got a PS5. I've taken it down to the motherboard and I've checked the EFI filters. The HDMI port itself is good. There's no broken legs and everything seems to be in working order but I'm still getting no picture. Are there any other tests that I can look into doing?

My hdmi cord sits semi loosely in the port of the console & inside the port there is a teeny tiny gold piece missing off where the cord would connect.
