I made some gift baskets with items by local farmers, Pickles, relishes, hot sauce, jams, honey etc. not only is it consumables, it supports local businesses and is a little advertising for them.
Hello, Pasta, a jar of spaghetti sauce, olive oil, Italian seasonings, wine, candle and chocolates. A simple meal that would be enjoyed. Thank you for sharing 🎄
some things I've used are gift card to local movie theater, popcorn, mandarin oranges, chocolates, new pencils & crayons, cookies, $ $ tied around a candy cane & I put these in decorated paper lunch bags for the grandkids,
I have been giving gift baskets for years, sometimes with an assortment of edibles and sometimes with toiletries (good for teenage girls). It's such a great idea.
I absolutely love doing the baskets for my older children. I do their favorite laundry stuff, favorite shampoo, conditioner, razors, "the good" toilet paper, toothbrush & toothpaste. I put it all in a laundry basket & that is their stocking.
I made a gift basket last year for my college age grandson. Dollar Tree mixing bowl, spatula, square baking pan, cooking spray, oil and brownie mix from the grocery store. He was so happy with it. I actually did not use a basket, rather a box and wrapped it. I never saw him so happy, each item was wrapped in tissue with the brownie mix on the bottom. Each item he unwrapped with some confusion until he got to the last….. it was like watching him put together a puzzle. 🎁
I LOVE giving gift baskets!!! Consumables and less clutter is always a great gift idea! I have done baskets with popcorn and candies and movies, I did one with an oven mit instead of a basket and gave them stuff to bake cookies with, I do bundt cake pans and ingredients for that, and I just did a "just add ice cream" sundae kit for my friends where I gave them bowls and toppings for hot fudge sundae and all they have to add is their fave ice cream :-)
I love all of your ideas! I like to give or get tea and a just add water scone mix, chocolate covered almonds, Mrs. Myers seasonal scented dish soaps, pepper jam, other jams and jellies, and dried fruit. I was thinking a crepe mix and a tiny jar of Nutella would be fun.
I add honey from our hives, homemade pot holders made of bee printed cloth, homemade cloth napkins, and homemade biscotti (because it lasts long time & these all need to be mailed).
I love giving gift baskets, this year for one of our gifts to my my son is a gift basket with different spices, pastas, fancy olive oils, and vinegars with a card telling him he will be bringing home a frozen homemade meatball and sausage tray made by me, which is his favorite I put red and green and white tissue paper inside the basket so it looks like the colors of Christmas and Italy I love your gnome ❤️
I did a gift bag for one mother day for the lady who gave birth to me. She seemed to enjoy it. I really don't know if she used all the items. I put pampering type of items from the dollar stores and my home.
one of my kids favourite gifts from last year was a monthly calendar with a fun theme from the store, we then marked important dates, birthdays, school vacations etc. plus for each month we placed 2-3 sticky notes with activities marked on it as a family or with one kid/parent at a time. due to covid it were ideas that could take place at home or outdoors, really simple things such as movie and popcorn, a picnic on the living room floor, silly dress up night etc as well as crafting or cooking together or a visit to the zoo, park etc. sometimes we had to move the sticky notes around to a later month. it was something we all looked forward to and the kids enjoyed knowing what was coming up next. the activities with only one kid at a time with mom or dad were special too, since i have twins and they enjoyed this special time and full attention for once.
I LOVE gift baskets! And I use old cardboard boxes as a vessel there is a lot of creative ways to make them look cute. Repurposed and recyclable! 😅But the fabric bags are fabulous as well. You had me at French market😂
My work colleagues drive me nuts with plastic straws. I’ve bought them eat a metal straw, a spork and three different sizes of reusable food storage bags.
What about a plain, brown paper bag? You’re not adding to their clutter or yours and they’re reusable, recyclable, compostable. They’re a blank canvas and can make them look cute and festive. :D
I did this in the past. I think it is the right gift but only for certain people. But, if the recipient isn't minimalist-minded and their love language is "expensive designer clothes, shoes, and handbags"...it will not go over well. She left the gift basket at the house! 😆
Cookies are a top tier Christmas present
I agree Demetri!

Sounds like a great basket!

Yes, just make sure the movie theater is local to them not you, a mistake my brother made many times with my son.
Such great ideas Loretta!
My former neighbors use to give me a big bottle of nuts. They were diabetic so they gave health friendly gifts!
Oh that's a nice gift!

Oh you're welcome Carolyn! Merry Christmas!
Love your shirt!
Oh thank you!
With gift baskets, you have to know your audience. I don't eat sugar or carbs but would love a keto basket. 😉
Yes! You need to know your people for sure
Love this idea.
Thanks Melissa!
Great ideas!!
Thank you Stephanie!
Je ne sais quoi! Love it.
