A really excellent performance. Wonderful phrasing in the 3rd movement and strong dynamics in the re-iteration of the theme in the 4th.

Tolstoy wrote that the chief and most precious quality of the artist is sincerity. For me, no one is more sincere than the elusive and heartbreaking Stanislav Neuhaus. See the documentary on TH-cam.
Even if we knew nothing of Stasik’s difficult life - the two fathers, the Soviets yanking him off the flight to Warsaw for the 1949 Chopin competition, his later mental struggles - it would be clear from performances like this that he saw the world almost like a cubist painter, from a multifaceted perspective that borders on the schizophrenic. This does not mean S. Neuhaus ignored structure, only that the straightforward narrative of an Arthur Rubinstein or Emil Gilels was not his way. For me this makes his playing, particularly of Schumann and Scriabin, fascinating and true.

He's very musical and his tone production is really in the upper echelon.

His Andante is positively exquisite, especially the diminuendo before the transition to the Presto, which is also wonderful.

"Etats d'ame"-"States of the Soul". I like his pacing, and the way he moulds the phrases. Scriabin is tremendously difficult-as is most Russian piano music. The younger Neuhaus was a superb artist. Oddly, I haven't heard of him playing in the West or having much of a career outside of the USSR. Tragically short life, dying in his early 50s.

There's some confusion over the date on this -- identical LPs released in 1965 and 1971, so probably it was recorded in '65 or just before. There's a similar problem with his Scriabin PC, which is listed as 11.5.70, but apparently there's a LP release with it in 1965.

Very sensitive and poetic, beautiful performance... As long as I can hear from his recordings I guess he had a bit more hard tone than his father's(not in negative meaning). I've read that his stepfather Pasternak was a great fan of Scriabin, he always listened to Scriabin's music but never Schumann.....when I heard Stanislav playing Schumann for the first time I felt uncomfortable a little bit, maybe that was the cause?

The Kreisleriana yes, but Stasik’s Bunte Blatter is lovely. I always supposed that, as with Arrau (who couldn’t discuss this troubled composer with Joseph Horowitz) Schumann cut too close to the bone. Scriabin, on the other hand, freed Stasik.

Was there not enough film for Stasik?

Perhaps a little 'in your face' where the sound is concerned, but a very committed and stylish performance with great depth of feeling I think.

    Buninの父上のScriabinは特別に素敵な気がします。父上はBuninよりダイナミックなのでChopinよりこちらがお得意なのでは..🙄と思っています🎶
