The crazy thing is, to achieve the same time in a classic drag car (with classic i mean a car that's usually utilized in drag races, like a lot of classic muscle cars f.e) you have to spend a gazillion $$$ anyway... And that means the technology put in the supercars of this era is mind blowing 🤯

@@PWNricky I'm trying to say that you can go fast with these kind of cars that yes, cost a fortune but provides you with quite the aerodynamics (and as you know in these cars aero made a big difference), OR use, like you said a cheaper car, but spend a lot of money (and you have to spend for quality parts, unless you want your own car to last not even a pass) in order to run 7's or even 6's... Hope I've explained myself better 😊

Grew up around Fred’s cars in San Francisco. Used to always ride my bike past his garage hoping he was outside doing launches or something crazy by palace of fine arts. I think one of my favorite ones of his cars was his wide body fiat 500 abarth built by gt auto concepts. Sick to still see his cars around even 10 years later
Keep in mind this is a road sports car and a weekend track car and a canyon carver, not a dedicated 1/4 mile drag car.. Truly impressive that it can do it all
I remember when Randy of Savage Garage saw the first one of these, there was a clip of him saying 'This is nothing more than a 720S. I wouldn't get one'.....well now look at that. This was exciting to watch.
They both are nice but if you already have a 720 it would be not Needed to get one. Tuned 720s run just as fast or faster because they have taller gears better for 1/2 a 1 mile racing. The short gears of the 765 are good for 1/4 mile and 60-130 but after 150 the charge slows compared to a 720s tuned with the same power

Souded like the last two runs he hit the rev limiter briefly? (different gears each time though), would have lost a couple of tenths so 8.9 if perfect changes, as per run 3.
I have heard that it is illegal to won a GT500 in Britain because of the size of the engine and the emissions. It don't know if that is ture but I am not sure
I think you're a little confused on the terminology. The GT500 is not homologated for Europe, but you can import through IVA as a one off going through the conversions and tests. That's actually what they had to do for my Ford GT too, which is also US spec.

Kudos for these guys doing these activities on a track rather than on the street like SS717, DDE, Savage Garage and others. Just think if the car could launch as hard as a Porsche Turbo. That could be worth a few 10ths.
It's running a 100 octane tune so over 1000 hp. 100 octane tune would boost stock hp by 25%. 880 hp x 1.25 is 1100 hp. A 1500hp chiron pur with the 380 kmh gearing could do under 8 seconds too

INCREDIBLE! Once again McLaren proves they are the King of the 1/4 mile. This demolishes the 9.62 time of the 1000hp Ferrari SF90. Although that was done on a non sticky road with a full tank of gas.
totally depends how you drive them. My 650 (obviously 30% less power) gets mid 20s (US gallons) on a highway at reasonably legal speeds (call that 30mpg using regular gallons). On a track it's well under 10mpg.

For those that haven’t seen, the stock 765LT ran a 9.37 in the 1/4. Making it quicker than the Challenger Demon.
It took 3 years for McLaren to unthrone the Dodge demon and don't forget that the demon costs just 1/3 price of the 765 LT

You can't choose it, the wing adjusts automatically based on the computer settings
