i really agree that rally is the true automobile sport, fuck the drag race, that's all about the engine power not even tiny bit of handling and driver's skills.

Tommi himself had said, that he could have won the 2001 Championship with the old Group-A Lancer, since it still had enough pace to gather good point scoring finishes on the remaining rallies (as long as he just would have finished the rallies instead of making stupid mistakes, like he did on Rally Finland 2001). But Ralliart was under pressure from Mitsubishi HQ to bring the new WRC Lancer into the completition as soon as possible and FIA was also starting to get impatient, since Ralliart had asked extra licence time for their Group A Lancers since 1997 (that year the WRC regulations were introduced), so that they could use Lancer's already excellent stock car platform for many years to come. And I'm very gutted about it, as I think that the dramatic crash on Rally Corsica 2001 with the new but troublesome WRC Lancer, softened Tommi a bit. He never really was the same man again after that, and that huge crash in Rally Argentina 2002 was the final blow to his comfort with completing on rallies.
Another problem is that once Makinen left the team struggled. The cars were largely built around him though Burns did really well despite that fact. I still like the team but I think it could have done better. I agree with you on that crash. I think he was waiting until the contract was up and then start his own thing.

I mean, all that needed to happen was Makinen to leave the team, and all of a sudden, Ralliart is lost. subaru dont do the dakar rally. d1 is just tuning companies using the car. like cusco. not subaru. in time attack yes the red hks evo is fast, but if they made an sti the same way it would be just as fast. circuit races again are just tuning companies unless you mean like best motoring and i have seen sti beat evos many times there.
the rallying version of lancer is very highly tuned lancer designed for rallying. It has 2.0 liter engine but way more powerful engine than the lancer evolution. Lancer Evolution is made so that people can buy it and enjoy it on public roads, but it still can run like the rallying car because it has the options for tarmac, gravel, and snow. So lancer evolution is pretty much downgraded version of the rallying version of Mitsubishi Lancer.
no matter who is driving the impreza wrc it is usually faster than the lancer wrc. and no it isnt just prodrive. it is mitsubishi and their rally team ralliart in wrc. so yes they did wrc (until they quit). and pretty much all the parts are not mitsubishi in circuit racing. they are from tuning companies like hks. and you make it sound like everybody uses evos and they dont their are stis too. the evo isnt crap when you tune it because most parts arent from mitsubishi.
