Assetto Corsa Evo - Is it Good?

- It's been a long wait for Assetto Corsa Evo, but Kunoz delivered a surprise by making it playable at the Simracing Expo! I got the chance to test it both with and without motion at the Imsim and Fanatec booths. Here's my breakdown of the first gameplay impressions.

Driving & Physics: Precise handling with improved tire feedback; stability on curbs feels natural.
Graphics: Stunning day-to-night cycle, beautiful rain effects, and immersive lighting.
AI Issues: Aggressive behavior with little room for error, causing some frustration.
New Features:
Free Roam: Drive seamlessly from Nordschleife to open roads.
Modding Support: Controlled modding to avoid IP theft, with collaboration opportunities for modders.
Multiplayer: Built-in daily races, challenges, and ranking system-no need for external platforms like LFM.
Early Build: Some bugs and audio glitches to work out, but promising foundation.

I was surprised you said the grip felt the same on the racing line or off it in wet conditions. As I've heard from other people saying the opposite - that they felt a big difference. Either way I'm sure it's something Kunos will make progress with over the next weeks before release.
For sure man. I think the bugs and the physics will be fixed intime for early release next month. I heard both from people there. I'n not sure if it was from the different systems running it or not.
Hope they will have a decent story mode

I don't like the idea of the modding situation, they aren't going to have any freedom. There's many many modders out there that aren't going to or want to jump through hoops, and manufactures and companies piggy backing off their work. I think that's going to be a thorn in the backside for AC2. Potentially giving no reason to move from AC for contents wise
Piggybacking off stuff they piggybacked themselves off manufacturers/companies I.P's, that they should be releasing for free anyway? Isn't this better than begging for donations and risking lawsuits?
Or going after people that call them out on the theft.
I think it’s great that they are working with modders to give them the proper resources to be integrated into the game seamlessly and not be buggy like most mods are. I think most of us give too much grace for the buggy nature of mods in AC and it would be nice to have the developer support so players can trust that mods won’t break the game. I’m sure we’re all familiar with flickering skies due to compatibility issues with csp/sol. NOW, it will probably be bad for the funny mods but in my opinion, AC isn’t the title for that stuff anyways. I never felt the need to drive an office chair around COTA.😅

I´m sure there will be a way to mod the game the old fashioned way by accessing the content folder in the game directory, but I assume that Kunos will only accept this manufactured approved content and quality track mods on their in-game storefront, for legal reasons.
They´ll probably be very open to the mods like they´ve always been, but it´s not a good look to investors and collaborating brands to say publicly "yes, you can still rip models from Gran Turismo".
