More than just how he became Superman, Smallville showed why Clark Kent would want to be Superman and specifically why he chose to do it the way he did (reporter with glasses, public hero with the uniform, etc)

Smallville Truly was an iconic series that so many of this great DC heroes to life and helped them branch out with their own shows within the Arrowverse. Smallville had perhaps the best versions of these heroes such as Superman, Green Arrow and Supergirl. It also had an incredible amount of heart/soul that made it compelling all the way through.

The Blade movies success made it possible for the X men franchise to go off and that success then gave the MCU movies the green light to start their run. All Smallville did was influence the DC side of tv shows. MCU shows are possible because of the MCU film franchises success which flows back to Blade, not Smallville. To me Smallville is still the best superhero tv show ever made but let's not pretend it's responsible for the others sides MCU shows out today.

The comment the creators made toward the end about not thinking the show would survive if it were made today almost sounds like they're admitting that the studio doesn't let creators make what they want to. They force them to jam everything with clunky political references/messages, to do only what the higher ups want.

Smallville is great but creating a new show out of that established universe is kinda troubled. You'll have to retcon everything or everyone to the events/stories of that show. A new shared universe, the Arrowverse, isn't really that bad; besides they visited the 'Smallville' universe later on.
Anyone who watched the show knew this there were 2 people on the show who were supposed to play green arrow in a solo show. The dude who was green arrow and the guy who became Dean in supernatural.
Had the best Superman, best core characters, best stories, best superman apart from reaves and Cavil. Hottest girls. Like Erica Durance, Kristen kreuk even Alison Mack got hotter every series.
Smallville is getting a new series. Some of the original cast is coming back for an animated sequel. The season 11 comics are basicallu getting a cartoon

But Arrow probably wouldnt have happened if it wasnt for Smallvile, and since Crisis on Infinite Earths happened wihtin the "Arrowverse" you could technically argue Smallville is part of that universe now, so its kind of a chicken and the egg thing with the terminology of whether it should be Arrowverse or Smallvilleverse
The Isobel story was interesting. But all of that lore just went out the window when Jason & Genevieve died and the fortress crystal was formed. Not so sure if it just served its purpose or if Al & Miles and the powers at be decided to go in a different direction.
Yeah the Smallville Clark that was in the Crisis On Infinite Earths is NOT the real Clark in the Smallville series. He wouldn't have given up his powers for ANY reason!
If you took Stephen Ameil and Arrow and discarded CW, the script, all the other cast and made a complete Arrow reboot movie or Daredevil style tv show you'd have a winner. Netflix needs to make that.
A lot of the script for Superman flyby was adapted into Snyders man of steel, and the parts were the most boring of the film but with Zacks slow mo making it worse
TO the editor you showed ending of buffy series yet that was not the end they were talking about. The Buffy ended on season 5 on the WB yet was picked up by UPN for 2 more seasons which was the clip shown. smallville was on in 2001 on WB with buffy on UPN till 2003.
This show had the most believable Lex Luthor ever, a Johnathan Kent that everyone wants as a father, and Season 10 was pure fan service.
