It feels good to have one in the collection, but yeah it’s just an engineering feat to be appreciated. I guess the difficulty of producing one also correlates to a higher quality knife.
Personally I feel like integrals are little harder to clean. Most knives can be fully disassembled which makes it easier to really get in there and clean everything up.
Hey MC, a video idea for you. What are the first 5-ish to 10-ish knives someone new to the hobby should buy. Obviously nothing too expensive, no $500+ knives, etc. Things that could get someone started and likely last the rest of their lives. Failing that, a video about a hypothetical. Let's say something happened and you had to start over from scratch. What would be the first 5-ish to 10-ish knives you would buy if you had none.
I've thought the same thing about my own small collection. If I could pick/recommend only one, it would be the Demko AD20.5. Agree would be interested in MC's opinion.
For me Pyrite, and bladehq has an upgraded version for a great price Vision fg, and knifecenter has a good exclusive version Drop bear, and knifecenter just released a great upgraded exclusive version Manix 2 or lw version
And to elaborate, this is coming from someone who had spent about $4k trying to find the ultimate folding pocket knife. Koenig, Hinderer, Matsey, Bastinelli, WE, Ocaso, Kershaw, Kaiser, Bestech, Civivi, etc. There is just something about the quality, the size, weight, ergos, texturing, blade shape, and locking mechanism that has the Demko in my pocket more often than not. If I personally could go back in time and buy only one knowing what I know today, or recommend only one for someone looking to buy their first, easily the Demko. One other thought, I recently picked up a Remette for $25 and I am shocked by the overall quality; I would probably recommend it over most of the sub-$150 knives in my collection. But hopefully MC sees your topic recommendation and runs with it. Would love to see what he would pick/recommend.
Fantastic list! I’m glad you gave Brian Winters the number one spot. it’s good to see all the content creators on TH-cam praising him as the most innovative designer in the knife industry. I wholeheartedly agree with that. it seems like every knife he releases has an element that we have never seen before. And even with the elements we have seen before, somehow takes it to the next level and improves on it. Literally every single one of his knives is more innovative than a folding knife that also has a corkscrew lol. Pretty sure those have been around at least a century
Nice video. I collect knives, but OMG some of these are out of control. 850-900 dollars for a pocket knife?? I understand they are great knives, but my Patriot Renegade Plus in 300 BO cost me 2100 dollars. Heck I could buy 3 AR uppers from PSA for 900 dollars. I think Ill stick with my Squid XM and Civivi Mini Praxis........If Im feeling frisky, Ill carry a Benchmade Bugout, which is way overpriced in my opinion. Pocket knives are now reaching prices that rival decent AR pattern rifles. Its kinda stupid, in mt opinion
I'm so glad I live in TN. I don't understand all the knife laws. Not only is there not a single knife type that is illegal here there is no length restrictions or anything...concealed whatever also. Way it should be.
My severn has been prepared for shipping since last Monday , I leave for vacation on weds. having a hard time deciding if I wanna go or wait at my doorstep for it honestly so excited!
Love that #2 WE. Not a big WE fan boy, but they really upped thier game about the last time I bought a WE with the Ziffius. Agree on that pocket clip, like a pimple on the nose of a good looking gal
the maxace neptune is my knife of the year at the moment. it's not just a fantastic OTF "for the price", it feels, looks, and performs like something extremely luxurious. it is hard to fire at first, but it does smooth out and loosen over time. i don't have to put much effort into actuating it anymore.
I tried to get into a 10 piece drop for the Oz Roosevelt Sunday. Got in within fractions of a second, had something in my cart already to get a head start. I missed out at, probably, under 30 seconds hahaha The hunt... The glorious glorious hunt... Continues. Would have loved the scales and an f'n VANAX blade, but alas. Did manage to grab a knife I've wanted for a while, in a configuration I kind of adore(not my ABSOLUTELY PREFERRED, but I have liked it a while), in the EMP Nimble first run. All in all, I've been blessed with some of the peices in my collection in 2+ years. ✌🏼🤘🏼
I have the WE Atoz, the exact same model you’ve shown in the list, and is just superb. A true built perfection e one of not the best WE model ever released
I hear from Miguron the Geddon will be restocked in about 2 months. Can't wait to grab one, just picked up the Arma 2, love it😄 Can't have the Arma without the Geddon.
Speaking on the We Knife "special sauce", I picked up they're newest re-release of the Cybernetic (all grey version), and the action is 100% better than the original Cybernetic I purchased last year. It's uncanny.
My thing is I know with an integral they have to mill out of one big block, but could they not just take the shavings and melt them back down to another block? So your really not loosing anything? Other then the extra wear on the drill bits.
I have been carrying my Maxace Neptune non-stop and then recently switched it for one of my UTX-85s and was disappointed by the feel of the UTX now as a result lmao.
Everything on this list was released in 2024. Chris Reeve has no new models for 2024. The point of this list was to name the best releases of the current year.
@@metal_complex cool thanks for the reply. New to knives , liked and subbed ! Saw your other vids w your thoughts on CR knives. I have the BM super freek and a few Fällknievens - A1 Pro, F1 Pro and the awesome NL3. 🔪🔪

@metal_complex What’s wrong with the Higonokami? Simple. Elegant. Light. Compact. Super sharp. Affordable. Timeless. Stylish. Ergonomic. High-quality Japanese craftsmanship.

Market determines the price on the Roosevelt. He could list them for over 1k and have no problem moving his inventory. I miss out almost every single time on the lottos and drops (I hit once). Had to buy others on secondary market for more. They’re def special imo.

Glad to see machinewise on this list! He has been making top tier balisongs for a while, glad to see his regular pocket knives are no different!
What's the benefit of being an integral?? You get to say "But it's an integral...."
Usually less hardware which can have a sleeker/cleaner aesthetic.
Easier for maintenance as well, only need to dissemble pivot to clean and maintain.
More durability, easier to clean, stays clean longer, and it’s just rlly cool and rare because of how expensive and difficult they are to make😀
It feels good to have one in the collection, but yeah it’s just an engineering feat to be appreciated. I guess the difficulty of producing one also correlates to a higher quality knife.

@@rabenatera do you own or have you tried any Spydercos? If I had to pick just one knife it would be a Para 2 or 3 LW depending on hand size.
My Severn is being prepared for shipping now. I can’t wait. I feel like this year has been a little boring for new knives outside of Winterblade.
@@jonesyxxiv When did you preorder? I haven’t gotten notice yet and I think I did in December/January…can’t remember.
@@FuzzyMutt76I I ordered in January at the tail end of the pre-order, I've received notice that it's going to be shipping next week.
batch one knives should all be a shipping out at basically the same time, within a 3-day window.

@@Kirkster131there's an update on Winterblade's website. labels were printed on July 25th, knives will be shipping out between July 29th and 31st
Bought a vosteed Acorn last night I'm excited. One budget knife I'm very pumped to add to my collection
Loved mirror giant close to end
Big fan of WE Knives...design, quality...value.... beautiful knives.
Both OZ Machine Co. and Brown Knives make 2-3 of my dream knives. The Rosie XL and Cortex XL/FSD are literally “Top 5” of all time for me.

Got me a xl Rosie and it's hyper cool. Hyper cool, hyper exotic
Very nice list. Personally, I would have found a place for the Ken Onion/Karbon Buckhorn. I’m really enjoying that one.
Severn prepared for shipping, hehe. Gonna be a bit until it gets through to Germany. Really looking into the attor, too... and I blame you xD
That brown cortex is ugh 🤤

That Avair looks amazing, but the bevel looks super weird.
