Because the engine is mostly plastic so stuff breaks a lot and the turbos are known to have a lot of problems after 50k miles its seems like BMW doesn’t make the cars to last because they want you to buy another one
@@austinfederspiel5781 seems like you are talking about older generation bmw, such as F10. Yes, there were issue with everything. But it is much better now. I am in g30 groups and not even one person talked about turbo issues. It's got much better compared to f10 and older generations.
I have recently received a special Coolant Catch Pan that protects injectors and engine if coolant tank developes a leak. Works on M5 F90 and M8 platforms. Will be doing a video overview on it soon!
I am very interested in this product. Definitely want to protect my engine.

I think it depends on if you need a back seat. Those cars are very different. Also you can get an F90 a lot cheaper than you can a new G82

Yeah the biggest depreciation has already happened. You can get a F90 for cheap now

Sick f90 for sure. Always think about selling my f80 and getting a f90, but I just don’t like cars that big. If I’m gonna get something big I feel like x5m for the dual purpose. That’s just me though
yeah i thought about the X5M but the m5 fit my budget better at the time.
I’d recommend skipping the front mounts. I just took the front mounts off my g82. Your filters are super exposed and end up getting dirty quickly. When driving in rain, you’re just soaking your filters with dirty water. I like to maintain my car more than some, and part of that is cleaning my filters often. To clean the front mounts on the g82, I would have to take the bumper off every time. It’s just not worth the hassle at the end of the day.
Yeah I would say for your car it is a pain. For the F90s, all we have to do is pop the grille out. One benefit of having traditional grilles 😂 we shall see. I am not too set on them. But I have been looking

You car is amazing. I had the M5 and now I have an exact spec and color of your G80 with every option. After having owned both cars I think the G80 is the better car. It looks better, handles better, is smaller, is just as fast with the right tunes and cost of ownership is much lower.
The G80 M3 actually looks better then the M4 with the wider fenders. I’ll take the M3 over any M car including the M8
I think for me the M5 is better. I would agree the M3 handles better but for my size the M5 is perfect. If I was a smaller guy, the M3 would have been perfect.
I think it depends on what you are looking for in a car. The M8 is the best blend of luxury and touring car you can get.
@@WhatsyourForte I was considering a M8 but when I drove the M3 Competition RWD it seems to be a better drivers car. The M8 is nice but it’s nose heavy and it looks too much like the 850 like the M5 looks too much like the M550. The M3 with the wide fenders is the only M car that is never mistaken for the lower model.

Front mount intakes just look cool. They will sound the exact same as your mst’s. And I think you need to remove the active grill. IMO it’s a waste of $1500 especially if you have intakes already
My car does not have the active grills but yeah I am not going to do front mounts

The X5M is more rare… they are super nice. Just depends if you need the extra space

You should ppf over the wrap, will keep it looking perfect for years.
Probably cheaper to re wrap it in a few years. Got quotes almost triple to ppf my m550 vs just a wrap
@@calebleuciuc670 yea but on the other hand you PPF it once and mostly never have to worry about it again. If keeping long term with a wrap it’s worth it, not for short term ownership though.

Awesome review. I am contemplating to trade my G80 in for a F90. How has the switch been for you? Do you miss the G80?
How come? I’m very genuinely curious of your experience cuz it’s between an M5 or M3 for me (looking to purchase in the future I’ve never owned a bmw)
First of, the G80 is a phenomenal platform. Despite its weight, it feels very nimble, agile, and well planted to the road. And it is fast....very fast. I previously owned a F8X M4 and up until recently the G80 M3. So I have had my fair share of time in the M3/M4. I am car guy to the core and simply want to experience different kinds of cars and, I guess, as you get older preferences change. Reality for me is that most of my driving is in the city or highway....I do not live near any twisty back roads or canyons. Thus, I am not really able to enjoy the G80 for what it actually was designed for. Plus, the G80 just makes me want to drive like hooligan all the time. Now I am looking for something more gentle and laid back, but still capable, which lead me to the M5 or M8 Gran Coupe. @@itoxicboom
I loved the F90. It was overall the best car I have ever owned. It checked every box. The power delivery is different also having a V8. It does not require you rev it out like the M3.

I’ve heard from numerous people that they are pretty reliable till 50k miles once they hit that they start to have turbo problems and other stuff but idk if you plan to still have it at 50k miles

I think it is. If you buy a used one. Not new as the depreciation will hurt
A 540i or 530i may be better choice for you as daily. And you can hardly tell the difference in power unless you press the gas to the end or if you race the car. The B58 engine is also a lot cheaper to maintain than the N63.
