- Replacing inside door handle of a Chevy cobalt. No videos were on when I attempted this so hopefully this helps all those out there with the same problem. Enjoy, positive comments only!!!

Excellent video bro. Helped me change out my door handle in less than 5 minutes. It was a little tough to do because I was nervous about breaking the panels when pulling them but once I got confident, it was pretty easy. Thanks for the help.

My door handle broke. I just replaced it in a few minutes thanks to this video. I was lucky, I didn't even need to remove the door panel. Super easy! Way cheaper than taking it to the dealership or mechanic. Thanks!

Excellent video. Made this job super simple and was quickly able to change out my sister-in-law's door handle. Was even able to get replacement handle at local junk yard, so entire project cost under $5. Thanks!!!

You just saved me tons of money. I tried to replace mine and the plastic wire guard snapped off I thought it was unuseable But I see you did the same think so I went back out to my car and popped the panel out and just placed the cable in and he rest was able to lock it into place just fine Thank you Thank you Thank you~

mine was the opposite direction it was much easier. didn't have to take the top piece off at all, uust popped the handle out and replaced it. thanks for the video
Will this work for a Cobalt 08 that has Automatic? I think my girlfriend snapped the wire to the door handle or something because when you pull on the door handle from the inside the door will not open.

@@tonycerda3181 not sure, should be similar set up. Snapped cable or broken plastic handle parts could be the culprit. Good luck.

The "shell" you take off starting at 2:45 is not replaced going back together. Why? Doesn't it function as a retainer so the cable doesn't unhook during operation?

Do you have to have a drill to do this?
No a Phillips screw driver will work as well just drill makes it quicker.
Did you forget to put the black clip on the back of the handle or is it not needed? Thanks
JackLalanne I'd like to know that myself. I'm replacing the door handle on my wife's Cobalt. Looks like you wouldn't need it but I'd like to be certain. Also doesn't look like you need to take the shell off either to remove the cable.
How to much the handle
Whoever the idiot was that designed that plastic part chrome plated (razor blade when it splits open) should be fired. This part should have been made out of black textured plastic. Period. I hope someone 3D Prints the part in black plastic. There is a good market for something to be made the right way!
Haha I feel your pain, literally. Had a significant cut on my hand for weeks to prove it. Hope it all worked out for you better than it did for me!
I peeled most of the BS chrome off, then wrapped the stub with black electrical tape pulling really hard overlapping each wrap. Good for now.......started way in, wrapped to the tip then back in.
