Super video Sascha! Bought back a lot of memories! Your drone flew over the house we stayed in and the structure on the sea front with the sun lounger underneath it is where my wife and I got married!
Went there in 2002. Very unusual forest reservation environment and felt special. Golf trolley drivers always circuiting to transport you if you wanted. Sad to see its demise. Thanks for post. R (UK)
Went there in 2003, took my 13 yr old son. It was our first time in Mexico and our first AI. It was a magical place. Food was great, service very good and the surroundings with all the wildlife, aviary and alligators was like staying at your own personal zoo. So sad it was never restored.
My wife and I went on our honeymoon here in Sept 2001. Not sure how accurate but we was told we was there the 2nd week the resort was open and the first to stay in our room. Which you flew over at the 20 second mark. The one with the rafters still standing at the left of the screen. The groups of bungalows was names by animals. That group was Iguana. Our room was Iguana 2511. That pool, We threw a frisbee back and forth. We swam in the lagoon. There was a restaurant by lagoon/cenote. The beach on the south side we released baby sea turtle hatchlings. Wish I could share pics here in the comments. Wish so bad they'd rebuild this place.
😅 Actually we start working on march 2001 and the first guests we had were for holly week and in september after the 9/11 the most of us started to work for half salary, or sent a couple of monts off, because there was not foreign tourism flying to México 😅 and we had not enough staff, maybe thats why they told you that. It was a beautiful place.❤❤❤
@@bianckaazul4646 So you worked at Xpu-Ha Palace? We came a couple days after 911. We got married on the 15th and flew down there on the 16th. We was in Iguana 2511. I can still see that one standing on googlemaps. We got to turn loose baby sea turtles one evening. I wish there was a way to share photos here in these comments.
Honeymooned there in 2004. A beautiful place then, and even better as the jungle reclaims it!

Interesting we stayed there on our honeymoon august 2004! Brings back memories thanks
Seems to have been quite a popular place for honeymooners. You’re the third one to comment that. Glad you enjoyed it!😊
I used to work there in 2001😢

Thanks for your memories! I’m sure it must have been a magical place. Also because it was before the Riviera Maya was completely overrun by tourists.

Nice video ! You take so much risk to do that men ! No secure zone
Así soy 😅 I don’t need a secure zone. Too much security sucks my soul dry
Rumour is Barcelo bought the property
Just recently? I also heard that someone took it over right after the hurricane but there was a dispute regarding borders or something..

Sabe que le pasó a los animales del zoo? Era un hotel muy bonito
